SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Manager, Sourcing & COGS Analytics provides overall financial leadership for capturing, measuring, and validating value synergies across mergers and acquisitions. This role is responsible for establishing rigorous tracking frameworks to determine whether cost of goods sold (COGS) optimizations, vendor cost parity, and margin targets are realized. The ideal candidate will combine deep financial acumen with data-driven problem-solving to unpack complex procurement processes, harmonize disparate data models, and drive clear P&L line-item visibility across cross-functional leadership teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Synergy Value Capture & COGS Measurement: Build and manage financial models to measure, report, and validate landed COGS improvements, product-level cost parity, and margin enhancement initiatives resulting from merger and acquisition activities.
-
Process & P&L Reconciliation: Unpack and harmonize complex, non-standard procurement processes, rebate structures, and transfer pricing nuances across legacy systems to establish a single source of truth for synergy tracking.
-
Advanced Financial Modeling & Analytics: Analyze large datasets to create dynamic scenario models, run ROI assessments, and perform root-cause variance analyses on forecast vs. actual synergy performance.
-
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with Sourcing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Commercial Finance, and M&A Integration teams to map and understand full P&L mechanics, align on financial impacts, and drive targeted operational actions.
-
Performance Monitoring & Executive Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver recurring Monthly/Quarterly Business Review (MBR/QBR) reporting to executive stakeholders on synergy progression and P&L impact.
-
Communication & Strategic Influence: Translate intricate financial drivers and multi-layered data structures into crisp, actionable insights for both finance and non-finance business leaders.
-
Special Projects: Lead targeted ad-hoc financial evaluations and strategic assessments for senior integration and finance executives.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EDUCATION
-
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
-
MBA or Master’s in Finance/Analytics preferred.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
-
At least 7 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, commercial finance, or data analytics.
-
Proven track record in COGS analysis, procurement finance, margin optimization, or M&A integration synergy tracking.
-
Prior managerial or team leadership experience required.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
-
Deep P&L Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of full P&L mechanics, margin leakage, rebate accounting, and COGS line items within large-scale distribution or retail environments.
-
Advanced Data & Modeling Capabilities: Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence/data analytics tools; comfort working with large, unstructured datasets across disparate ERPs.
-
Process Deconstruction: Strong ability to unpack unique process flows, identify data anomalies, and standardize non-transactional financial treatments.
-
Cross-Functional Leadership: Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional business partners without direct authority and navigate multi-layered organizational structures.
-
Executive Communication: Clear, crisp written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize concise executive updates from complex technical logic.
-
Agility & Independence: Proactive problem-solver capable of managing competing priorities and delivering structured output in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
