Posting Description

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ANNUAL GIVING, MIT Sloan Office of External Relations, management and solicitation of a portfolio of approximately 1,000 annual fund donors and prospects with the capacity to contribute between $2,500 and $100,000 to the MIT Sloan Annual Fund; responsible for completing 100–120 prospect meetings annually through a combination of in-person and virtual engagement, and for conducting strategic outreach via video, phone, text, and email to secure philanthropic leadership-level commitments at key fundraising periods and throughout the calendar and fiscal year, including MIT's giving day; preparation of timely and comprehensive contact reports, proposals, and other donor-related materials, as well as consistent and effective follow-up with prospects and donors; and will personally steward donors by expressing appreciation for their support and collaborating with colleagues to implement strategies that strengthen donor retention and engagement. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of relevant experience in areas such as personal solicitation, sales, or a related field; collaborative, self-motivated, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team; exhibit exceptional judgment, diplomacy, discretion, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage comfortably and appropriately with high-profile individuals and potential major benefactors; ability to quickly learn and effectively communicate MIT Sloan's mission, culture, academic programs, strategic priorities, and philanthropic opportunities; and strong communication and presentation skills, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to travel domestically, as approved by MIT Sloan.

Will require occasional evening and weekend work.
