Full job description

Senior Medical Director Reports to: CMO

Our office is located in Cambridge, MA and we are looking for a local candidate who can spend time in our office several days a week.

About Us: Delphia is a biotechnology company on a mission in the service of patients to pioneer an entirely new field of cancer biology, Activation Lethality, that targets cancer’s vulnerability to oncogene overactivation. Together, we are working to advance first-in-class targeted cancer medicines that can provide better and more durable outcomes for patients, particularly where drug resistance is observed. Partnering together in a supportive, open, and collaborative environment, we share a sense of purpose and urgency and commitment to patients to approach cancer biology through a different perspective and to establish Activation Lethality as the next wave of oncology therapeutics.

About the Role This role reports to the Chief Medical Officer, and will provide strategic, clinical, and scientific leadership for development programs in oncology. The Senior Medical Director will be responsible for translating preclinical insights into actionable clinical development strategies to advance our therapeutic assets from discovery through clinical proof-of-concept and registration.

The Senior Medical Director is a key lead for patient safety and medical monitoring for assigned assets and partners with Clinical Operations and other clinical development functions to ensure the successful planning, execution, and implementation of clinical studies. They also serve as a subject matter expert, providing strategic medical guidance across assigned assets and indications, specifically prostate cancer.

This role requires strong collaborative and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence a broad spectrum of internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate must operate with the highest ethical standards, ensuring full compliance with SOPs, regulatory requirements, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design, execution, and oversight of oncology clinical trials across Phase 1 through Phase 3, providing hands-on leadership to study teams and keeping programs on track against key milestones
  • Serve as Medical Monitor across trials, maintaining study integrity while closely tracking safety and efficacy signals in oncology patient populations
  • Analyze and interpret clinical data with rigor, translating findings into clear, actionable insights that drive smart development decisions
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all trial-related documents — protocols, investigator brochures, medical monitoring plans, site training materials, clinical study reports, regulatory submissions, and SOPs
  • Partner with the internal safety team to analyze and report safety data, including SAEs, with a thorough understanding of the oncology safety landscape
  • Apply deep oncology expertise to ensure the clinical relevance and scientific rigor of our development programs, from early-phase hypothesis testing through registrational studies
  • Stay current on evolving standards of care, competitive landscape, and emerging science in oncology to continuously sharpen our clinical strategy
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with investigative sites, clinical consultants, and oncology key opinion leaders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical development functions including Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics, and Translational Medicine to advance programs efficiently and thoughtfully

What We’re Looking For

  • M.D. with significant oncology clinical development experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including experience in medical monitoring and leading cross-functional teams. Development experience in prostate cancer preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in industry, preferably in a biotech environment
  • Hands-on, meaningful experience in oncology clinical trial design, execution, and medical monitoring
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to interpret complex oncology data sets with confidence and clarity
  • Solid understanding of FDA and ICH regulatory requirements as they apply to oncology drug development
  • Comfortable working independently and navigating a fast-paced, matrixed environment without losing sight of the details
  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities and keeping programs moving without sacrificing quality
  • -A natural collaborator and communicator — someone who can influence without authority and build trust across a diverse set of stakeholders
  • High ethical standards and sound judgment when handling complex, confidential, and regulated information

The anticipated salary range for candidates for this role is $290,000--$320,0000. The final salary offered will depend on several factors, which may include, but is not limited to relevant years of experience and educational and training background.
