Brief Description of Duties:
The Syracuse Educational Opportunity Center (SEOC) is seeking dedicated and student-centered Adjunct High School Equivalency (HSE) Instructors to provide engaging, in-person instruction for adult learners pursuing their New York State High School Equivalency diploma. This part-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by empowering students to achieve academic success. Instructional opportunities are available during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, based on program and course scheduling needs.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teach one in-person High School Equivalency (HSE) course in one of the following subject areas:

Mathematics

Reading/Language Arts
-
Science
-
Social Studies
Prepare and deliver engaging classroom instruction that supports adult learner success, including the use of the Brightspace learning management system.
Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records.
Assess student progress and provide academic support and feedback throughout the semester.
Submit grades and required documentation by established deadlines.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success and program goals.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.

At least (1) year of teaching experience in an educational setting.

Knowledge of High School Equivalency/GED instruction
-
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to supporting the academic success of adult learners.
