Location: Syracuse, NY Category: Adjunct Faculty Job Type: Part Time - 10 Months Posted On: Mon Oct 26 2026 Job Description:

The School of Health, Wellness and Human Services invites applications for Clinical Instructors in the Surgical Technology program, offered in collaboration with Corning Community College. Clinical instructors accompany students during their clinical rotations at Corning and surrounding area healthcare facilities. Major responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and assist students in multiple clinical settings.

  • Plan and organize daily room/case assignments.

  • Assess students' skills, knowledge and behavior in the clinical setting.

  • Communicate with preceptors, OR management team and clinical coordinator.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Certification as a Surgical Technologist with a minimum of three years of experience within the last five years.

  • General comfort with digital technology, including basic troubleshooting and navigating digital tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Demonstrated connections with local healthcare organizations.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.

Additional Information:

  • Adjunct rate of pay for the 26/27 academic year is $50.72 / per hour. Classes will be assigned on an as needed basis dependent upon enrollment.

  • Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System.

Clinicals will take place at healthcare facilities in Corning and surrounding areas.

Spring semester dates and hours:

  • 1/25/2027-5/5/2027

  • Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30am-3:00pm

Summer semester dates and hours:

  • 5/17/2027-6/25/2027

  • Monday through Friday 6:30am-3:00pm
