Full job description
About HUD HUD's mission is to build reliable, fair and open infrastructure for AI data. We want data to be valuable for the people who create it and trustworthy for the labs that train on it. Our team is a quickly growing group of researchers, engineers and operators building the economy that shapes what AI will become. Backed by $16M from top VCs and YC (W25), our marketplace and platform are used by startups, Fortune 500 companies and frontier labs.
About the role We’re hiring a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to get the people shaping frontier AI excited about HUD and turn that interest into growth. We believe the infrastructure for AI data should be open, reliable, and fair: valuable to the people who create data and trustworthy for the labs that train on it. You’ll help frontier labs understand and buy what HUD enables, bring strong data vendors into our marketplace, and make HUD a company that talented people want to join. This is a hands-on role for someone who is already engaged in the AI community, can talk shop with researchers and engineers, and knows how to turn a technical idea into something people act on. You’ll shape our positioning and execute the work that brings it to life: case studies, partnerships, product and funding announcements, founder content, events, and whatever else helps the right people discover and choose HUD. You’ll work closely with the founders, research, product, and GTM teams to decide what matters, ship it, and learn from the results.
Responsibilities
-
Develop and refine HUD’s positioning for frontier-lab buyers and data vendors, grounding our story in what they are building, what they need, and why HUD matters to them
-
Own marketing execution for case studies, partnerships, product launches, and company announcements
-
Create and distribute compelling content across HUD’s site, X, LinkedIn, etc.
-
Plan and execute creative events that attract high-quality researchers, buyers, and data vendors; Test messages and channels, track qualified buyer conversations and vendor interest through to opportunities and participation, and use what works to focus our time and budget
-
Whatever it takes to make our work and mission visible to potential customers and teammates
Experience You may be a good fit if you have:
-
Conviction in HUD’s mission and a specific point of view on why open infrastructure for AI data matters. Tell us what excites you about what we’re building in your application
-
Active involvement in the AI community through your work, projects, writing, events, or relationships, and an understanding of what earns attention and trust among researchers and builders
-
Enough technical fluency to talk shop with AI researchers and engineers, learn HUD’s products firsthand, and discuss agents, RL environments, evaluations, and post-training without losing the substance
-
A track record of turning marketing, launches, content, or community programs into measurable adoption, qualified demand, or commercial opportunities for a technical product
-
Strong writing and positioning judgment: you can make a technical idea clear, accurate, and persuasive for both practitioners and buyers. Include one or two examples of work you personally drove, with your contribution and results
-
The ability to own work from an ambiguous brief through execution and follow-up, whether that means writing a launch, coordinating a partnership, or running an event
Strong candidates may also have:
-
Marketing, product marketing, growth, or community experience at an AI/ML, developer tools, infrastructure, or data company
-
Familiarity with how frontier labs source data, evaluate models, and approach post-training
-
Relationships with AI researchers, technical buyers, data vendors, or relevant community organizers
-
Experience running technical events or partnership campaigns, supporting founders’ public communications, or using analytics and AI tools to improve marketing execution
We prioritize technical aptitude and learning potential over years of experience. Motivated candidates are encouraged to apply even if they don't meet all criteria.
