Full job description

Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua‘i community with accessible quality health care. The largest medical center on Kaua‘i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the island’s Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the state of Hawai‘i. Wilcox is part of Hawai‘i Pacific Health, one of the state’s leading health care systems and a not-for-profit health care organization with medical centers, clinics, physicians and other caregivers working together to create a healthier Hawai‘i.

Our Perioperative Services department provides full support throughout the duration of a patient's surgical procedure, spanning ward admission, anesthesia, surgery and recovery. Professional care services include identification of the patient’s individual needs, patient care plan development and implementation and the coordination of nursing service to restore each patient’s health before, during and after a surgical procedure.

As the Business Manager, RN, you are responsible for planning, organizing, facilitating, and monitoring the activities and functions of the Perioperative Services business operations. In this role, you will collaborate with the Perioperative Services team to implement and maintain the financial business goals and objectives in alignment with the mission and objectives of Hawai‘i Pacific Health. In this role, you will assure fiscally viable and optimal service delivery in the Perioperative areas. You will also provide leadership and support to ensure achievement of Perioperative Services strategic and operational plans.

Pay Range: 128,086 - 160,118 USD per year

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or business. Current Hawai‘i RN License. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification. Two (2) years clinical experience in the Perioperative areas. Interpersonal and problem-solving skills necessary to interact with physicians and co-workers. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to all levels or personnel. Knowledge of Surgical Information System (SIS) including OR scheduling and intraoperative record and its applications. Advanced computer skills including, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Analytical skills to gather and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field. MBA preferred. Two (2) years' experience in a Perioperative setting with progressive leadership. Knowledge or experience with financial analysis including reports and materials management functions.
