Full job description
The Principal Enterprise Architect, Strategic Initiatives is the architecture owner for the company's largest multi-year business transformation programs, starting with the cloud ERP program replacing legacy ERP and boundary systems region by region, in waves. The role owns the end-to-end architecture of the initiative: the target state, the integration and data architecture that connects the ERP core to warehouse, transportation, labeling, plant, master data and finance systems, and the current-state architecture of every release and wave. It is the architecture voice in the program's steering and design forums and the counterpart to the system integrators. The role is hands-on: it keeps the architecture current, reviews designs, settles cross-workstream conflicts and produces the roadmap options leadership decides on. - Own the end-to-end architecture of the initiative: the ERP core, the boundary applications (warehouse, transportation, labeling, plant and quality, master data, tax, banking, EDI) and the integrations and data flows between them, across order-to-cash, source-to-pay, plan-to-produce and record-to-report - Maintain the current-state architecture for every release and wave, version-controlled, so that the process, application and master-data changes from each deployment and retrofit are visible to the program, the business and the architecture community - Own the target state and transition architecture for the remaining waves and regions: what moves when, what runs in parallel, what retires, and the global-template versus local-variant decisions - Produce the roadmap options leadership decides on: sequence, pause, accelerate and consolidate scenarios with cost, risk, benefit and dependencies laid out for the steering committee - Own integration and data-conversion architecture for the program: integration patterns between the cloud ERP and boundary systems, conversion and migration approach, master data flows and cut-over design, within enterprise integration and data standards - Review solution designs from internal teams and system integrators for conformance to the program architecture and enterprise standards, and hold the integrators to it - Own the non-functional architecture: performance, resilience, hypercare readiness and operability of the end-to-end flow, and the remediation plan when a release falls short - Connect the initiative to the enterprise: align with the Principal Portfolio and Practice Architects so the program reuses enterprise platforms and retires legacy systems rather than adding to the landscape - Serve as the architecture member of the program's steering and design authority forums, and the escalation point for cross-workstream architecture conflicts - Build the bench: transfer program architecture knowledge to Solution & Domain Architects so the initiative never again depends on one person This is a remote position.
