Full job description
Voicepanel is building the next era of customer-centric product development. Today, companies are launching new products faster than ever, often without knowing how customers will respond. Traditional research methods (surveys, focus groups, manual interviews) power a $140B industry that hasn't kept pace with how modern teams operate in an AI-first world. Voicepanel changes this with customizable AI agents that recruit participants, collect feedback, and synthesize clear, actionable recommendations. From testing new product ideas to refining brand messaging and marketing campaigns, teams can make confident decisions grounded in real customer feedback in days, not quarters. We're already partnering with leading global brands to transform how companies understand their customers and bring new ideas to market. We're a veteran team of product builders and operators (formerly Google, Microsoft, and Apple). Our business is growing rapidly, and we're backed by leading investors including Y Combinator and founders of Dropbox, Instacart, Optimizely, and Gusto. Founding Marketing Lead Location: San Francisco, CA (hybrid, in-office several days a week) · Type: Full-time · Reports to: CEO About the role We're hiring our first marketer. You'll cultivate the Voicepanel brand in partnership with our founding team and bring it to life everywhere people meet us: online through content and social, and in person through events. From a LinkedIn post to an intimate dinner with research leaders, you'll shape how people experience Voicepanel. Your first and biggest focus will be in-person events: the conferences we attend and sponsor, and the dinners, happy hours, and gatherings we host. Alongside that, you'll own our brand and messaging and lead our content and social strategy with our CEO and Head of Research, the public voices of the company. As we grow, you'll also help guide our broader growth marketing, often alongside specialist consultants. We're looking for someone scrappy and high-agency. You don't need to have done every part of this job before. If you've shown you can create great experiences and build a brand people remember, and you're comfortable figuring out the rest, we want to hear from you. What you'll own Events (primary focus)
- Build and run our events calendar across conferences, sponsorships, executive dinners, happy hours, workshops, and community meetups.
- Decide which industry events we attend, sponsor, or speak at, and negotiate sponsorships and vendor contracts.
- Own every detail of in-person events: venues, guest lists, invitations, booth design, swag, run-of-show, logistics, and follow-up.
- Host Voicepanel-branded events in San Francisco and key markets that bring together research, product, and marketing leaders.
- Produce online events and webinars with our Head of Research and CEO, from topic and speakers to promotion and follow-up.
- Partner with sales to turn event attendance into real relationships and pipeline.
Brand & messaging
- Cultivate the Voicepanel brand with our founding team: who we are, how we sound, and what we stand for.
- Make sure every touchpoint feels unmistakably Voicepanel, from our website and sales materials to a booth, a dinner invite, or a webinar.
- Sharpen our positioning and messaging for our core buyers in product, marketing, and research leadership.
- Manage design and creative partners (freelance or agency) as needed.
Content & social
- Lead our social strategy in partnership with the CEO and Head of Research, including a content calendar and messaging plan.
- Help our founders build their personal brands on LinkedIn and other channels with ghostwriting, editing, and amplification.
- Turn events, customer stories, and research insights into content across channels.
Growth marketing (nice to have)
- Work with specialist consultants and agencies to plan and execute our growth marketing.
- Help lead SEO strategy and website content to grow our organic reach.
- Run paid campaigns across LinkedIn, search, and other channels within an assigned budget.
- Track marketing performance in HubSpot and related tools, and shift time and budget toward what's working.
What makes you a fit
- Events pro: You've planned and run memorable in-person events, from intimate dinners to conference booths, and you sweat the details.
- Brand builder: You have taste, and you care how a company looks, sounds, and feels in every interaction.
- Scrappy and high-agency: You get things done without a big team or a rigid playbook. Haven't done something before? You're comfortable figuring it out.
- Great collaborator: You can partner closely with founders, translating their ideas into polished content and experiences.
- Results-minded: You care whether your work builds relationships and pipeline, not just buzz.
- AI-curious: You use AI tools to move faster and are excited to market an AI-native product.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of marketing experience, ideally in B2B, with significant hands-on event planning and execution.
- Proven experience running conference presence, sponsorships, and hosted events end to end.
- Experience shaping brand, content, or social for a company or product.
- Strong project management skills; able to juggle multiple events and campaigns at once.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work in our SF office on a hybrid schedule.
- Able to travel up to 20% of the time for conferences and events.
- Bonus: experience with SEO, paid, or marketing analytics; at an early-stage startup; or marketing to research, product, or marketing audiences.
Don't check every box? If you're high-agency and great at events and brand, we'd still love to hear from you. Benefits
- Salary: $140K–180K
- Equity: 0.25%–0.75%
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) plan with company matching
- Fully covered travel for conferences, offsites, and retreats
