  • Own monthly engineering forecasting, variance analysis, risk and opportunity management, and labor rate/mix analysis to improve forecast accuracy and cost performance.

  • Drive zero-based budgeting and prioritization of engineering projects and investments to optimize resources and returns.

Financial Management and Portfolio Controls:

  • Own engineering financial performance and portfolio controls, establishing KPIs for productivity, forecast accuracy, rate performance, project returns, and overall cost transparency.

  • Partner with Engineering and product-line teams to standardize accounting, monitoring, forecasting, funding, and reimbursement processes while driving accountability to financial commitments.

  • Strengthen investment discipline through project financial controls, commercial insights, and post-mortem analysis that improve prioritization, margin expansion, and future investment decisions.

Capital Allocation and Decision Support:

  • Optimize engineering resource and capital allocation to improve throughput, productivity, cost efficiency, and return on investment.

  • Manage capital spending and performance against plan, identifying opportunities to improve utilization and financial outcomes.

  • Partner with Commercial Finance, Operations, and FP&A to drive portfolio-level trade-offs and provide financial analysis supporting NPI and investment decisions.

Talent, Systems and Continuous Improvement:

  • Partner with Project Accounting, IT, and Engineering Operations to automate and digitize project accounting, streamline processes, and reduce administrative burden.

  • Build finance capability through standardized work, skills development, continuous improvement, and meaningful talent-development opportunities.

  • Support an effective organizational design for engineering finance business partnering while attracting and developing strong, promotable talent.

Decision Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to optimize the engineering portfolio, prioritize investments, and evaluate NPI opportunities.

  • Determine the appropriate level of financial visibility and cost centralization needed to enable effective business decisions and accountability.

  • Drive engineering productivity and cost-efficiency initiatives while holding business partners accountable to financial commitments and performance targets.

Qualifications:

Basic (required) Qualifications:
