Job Description

The OB RN provides comprehensive nursing care to women during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum, as well as care for newborns. This role requires strong clinical skills, compassion, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct patient care throughout the obstetric continuum, including postpartum stages. Monitor maternal and fetal health, including vital signs, fetal heart tones, and labor progression. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV therapy and pain management. Assist with labor and delivery procedures, including cesarean sections and emergency interventions. Educate patients and families on childbirth, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care. Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions. Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards. Provide emotional support and advocacy for patients and families during childbirth experiences.

REQUIREMENTS: Current Montana RN license. Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred). Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Previous experience in obstetrics, labor and delivery, or maternal-child health strongly preferred. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
