It’s an exciting time to join! Salesforce is leading a $166 million investment in the company, supporting our vision to bring trusted people context into the AI-powered enterprise. As we accelerate our product, technology, AI, and innovation roadmap, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape what comes next.
About the Role
The Director of Marketplace will lead the end-to-end marketplace function, turning Bob's platform and ecosystem into a scalable source of customer and business value. The role owns the marketplace operating model across technology supply, builder participation, customer adoption, and monetization, translating company and platform priorities into a focused roadmap and measurable business outcomes.
This leader will manage three program managers and work across Partnerships, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, Sales, Finance, and Legal. Success requires connecting the marketplace experience, partner ecosystem, developer community, and commercial model into one coherent system while maintaining clear ownership boundaries with technology-partner and Solution Integrator relationship managers.
Requirements are often considered a measure of how equipped you are to do the job, but sometimes, they aren’t the only factor. If you don’t have nearly enough experience, or not all the skills, we’d still like to hear from you. This could be the perfect fit for you and us.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in platform, marketplace, ecosystem, partnerships, product strategy, or business development roles within B2B SaaS or technology.
- Demonstrated experience building or scaling a technology marketplace, developer ecosystem, integration portfolio, or partner platform.
- Proven ability to create multi-year strategies and translate them into an operating model, roadmap, investment case, and measurable business outcomes.
- Experience developing an integration or solution portfolio, including segmentation, partner tiers, quality standards, launch readiness, lifecycle management, and regional or customer-gap prioritization.
- Strong understanding of developer ecosystems and the factors that drive builder participation: APIs, documentation, tooling, technical enablement, support, certification, and community.
- Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering to influence platform capabilities, developer experience, and scalable integration delivery.
- Commercial acumen, including experience with marketplace adoption, packaging, distribution, partner incentives, referral models, revenue share, or other monetization approaches.
- Demonstrated success leading highly matrixed initiatives across Product, Engineering, Partnerships, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and regional teams.
- Strong analytical and business-case development skills; able to define success metrics, establish baselines, assess trade-offs, and use data to refine strategy.
Bonus if you have:
- Experience in HR technology, payroll, workforce management, fintech, ERP, or another ecosystem-heavy B2B SaaS environment.
- Familiarity with commercial and legal considerations for technology partnerships, including referral agreements, revenue share, solution certification, and marketplace terms.
What You’ll Do • Define and lead Bob’s marketplace strategy, operating model, and multi-year roadmap—aligning investment priorities with company, platform, customer, and regional growth needs.
- Build and scale a high-quality marketplace portfolio of integrations and solutions, including partner segmentation, readiness standards, launch requirements, and ongoing performance management.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Developer Experience to improve the platform capabilities, APIs, tools, documentation, and processes that enable scalable solution development.
- Create programs that attract, enable, and retain independent developers, Solution Integrator technical teams, customers, and other solution creators.
- Develop the marketplace growth model, driving solution discovery, adoption, customer value, and expansion in partnership with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Partnerships.
- Identify, test, and scale marketplace monetization opportunities, including referral, revenue-share, packaging, and other commercial models.
- Establish clear governance, cross-functional accountability, and performance measures across marketplace supply, builder participation, customer adoption, commercial impact, and delivery.
- Lead and develop a team of marketplace program managers while representing marketplace priorities in product, regional, partner, annual planning, and executive discussions.
Base salaries for this role range are $200,000-$260,000. Additionally this role has a variable compensation component.
