Aprio is seeking a Senior Tax Associate, International Tax to join a growing team that advises clients ranging from closely held businesses to large multinational organizations with complex global operations.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of inbound and outbound international tax matters while working alongside experienced international tax leaders. Responsibilities: As a Senior Tax Associate, your typical day may include:

  • Preparing and reviewing U.S. international tax compliance filings, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 1118, 1120-F, 1042, 8832, 8990, 8992, and 8993

  • Supporting calculations and analysis involving Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credits, withholding taxes, and treaty provisions

  • Delivering strategic inbound and outbound U.S. and international tax consulting, including repatriation planning, holding company and financing structures, foreign exchange considerations, and support for internal reorganizations and post-acquisition integrations.

  • Advising on the tax aspects of partnership ventures and provide structuring and diligence guidance for international aspects of M&A transactions.

  • Developing innovative international tax-saving strategies through analysis of supply chain and transfer pricing considerations.

  • Drafting technical tax memoranda and client deliverables addressing U.S. international tax issues.

  • Identifying planning opportunities and potential risks for multinational clients and communicate findings clearly to managers and partners.

  • Managing day-to-day execution of international tax engagements, including budgeting awareness, workflow coordination, and meeting deadlines.

  • Coordinating with U.S. domestic tax teams, transfer pricing professionals, and foreign firms to ensure consistent global tax outcomes.

  • Serving as a primary point of contact for routine client questions and data requests, escalating complex issues as appropriate.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and passionate about building a career in international tax. Successful candidates will have:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field

  • CPA or JD required

  • Recent experience working in a public accounting firm, preferably a top 10 accounting firm

  • 3-5 years of public accounting experience with a strong emphasis on U.S. international tax

  • Experience preparing international tax compliance filings and related calculations

  • Exposure to both inbound and outbound international tax matters

  • Experience in Corporate, S-Corp. and/or Partnership returns

  • Familiarity with Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, 1042, and other international information returns

  • Knowledge of foreign tax credits, withholding tax concepts, and international tax compliance requirements

  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with tax treaties, reduced withholding rates, or exemption analyses

  • Exposure to multinational clients across multiple industries; experience with private equity, technology, manufacturing, or similarly complex client environments
