Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of Epileptologist .
Position Overview
The Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center is seeking a dynamic, board-certified/board-eligible Epilepsy Physician (Epileptologist) to join our rapidly growing and nationally recognized neuroscience program. This position offers a balanced clinical practice encompassing comprehensive epilepsy care, electroencephalography (EEG) interpretation, and general/subspecialized neurology. Candidates will receive a faculty appointment at Rush University, with rank and track commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care: Provide exceptional inpatient and outpatient evaluation, diagnosis, and management for patients with epilepsy, seizure disorders, and related neurological conditions.

Diagnostic & Procedural Work: Interpret routine, ambulatory, and continuous video-EEG monitoring (cEEG) studies; participate in comprehensive epilepsy evaluation protocols (including surgical evaluations, phase II monitoring, and multidisciplinary case conferences).

Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner closely with specialized neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, neuroradiologists, and dedicated epilepsy nurse specialists within a comprehensive epilepsy center framework.

Academic & Educational Engagement: Teach, mentor, and supervise residents, fellows, and medical students within our nationally recognized training programs.

Research (Optional): Engage in clinical trials, translational research, or academic scholarship supported by the department's robust research infrastructure.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Graduate of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency program.

Fellowship: Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Epilepsy.

Certification: Board certified or board eligible in Neurology, with subspecialty certification/eligibility in Epilepsy.

Licensure: Eligible for an active, unrestricted medical license in the State of Illinois

Skills: Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, EEG interpretation, teaching, and patient-centered communication.

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances . Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
Total Compensation Pay Range: $260,000- $352,000
