Full job description

About Us

At Prenuvo, we are on a mission to flip the paradigm from reactive “sick-care” to proactive health care. Our award-winning whole body scan is fast (under 1 hour), safe (MRI has no ionizing radiation), and non-invasive (no contrast). Our unique integrated stack of optimized hardware, software, and increasingly AI, coupled with the patient-centric experience across our domestic and global clinics, have allowed us to lead the change against “we caught it too late again".

To support our growing network of clinics and clinical services, we are building the preventive health system of the future. We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and highly collaborative physician to join Prenuvo Medical Group as a Preventive Medicine Physician working out of our Chicago clinic.

This position combines direct patient care with clinical education, quality improvement, and strategic leadership. The physician will contribute to a defined leadership portfolio aligned with their experience and organizational priorities. Within the broader clinical team, nurse practitioners (NPs) provide excellent care within established consult and clinical pathways, while the physician manages the exceptions, assumes physician-specific supervisory responsibilities, and helps define and govern the clinical standards within which the broader team practices.

The ideal candidate will have an M.D. or D.O. degree, at least five years of clinical experience, and a strong foundation in primary care and evidence-based disease prevention. We are looking for someone who can operate independently in a rapidly evolving environment, translate clinical concerns into practical solutions, and take meaningful projects from early concept through execution.

Experience or demonstrated interest in medical genetics, genomics, longevity medicine, advanced imaging, biomarkers, and emerging preventive health technologies is strongly preferred.

This role does not provide visa sponsorship. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and must not require employer sponsorship for a work visa (current or future).

Help reshape the world through proactive healthcare while working with cutting-edge technology and high performing teams with deep expertise - join us to make a difference in people’s lives!

What You'll Do

  • Conduct high-quality telehealth and in-person consultations with patients following Prenuvo imaging and other preventive assessments, providing clear education, clinical context, and appropriate follow-up guidance.

  • Help patients understand imaging findings, laboratory results, risk factors, and evidence-based preventive strategies without replacing the role of their established primary care physician or specialist.

  • Collaborate with radiologists and other clinical specialists to support the patient journey from screening results to appropriate clinical follow-up.

  • Serve as a supervising or collaborating physician for Nurse Practitioners as required and determined by business need.

  • Manage top-tier clinical escalations for complex, urgent, or high-risk cases outside standard NP protocols, including discordant findings, serious patient concerns, and physician-to-physician coordination.

  • Participate in clinical quality and safety review, including serious events, complex complaints, potential deviations from standards of care, and higher-level peer or case review. Execute on assigned related education and projects.

  • Participate in physician coverage for critical-result workflows, including international consultations where appropriate. Serve as backup coverage for other physicians, as needed.

  • Develop expertise in Prenuvo’s evolving clinical products, technologies, and workflows, including whole-body MRI, advanced neuroimaging, body composition analysis, cardiac imaging applications, laboratory testing, and genetics or genomics services as applicable.

  • Assume responsibility for a defined physician leadership portfolio based on experience, organizational priorities, and team needs, and leading or contributing to assigned focused clinical projects with clear objectives, deliverables, timelines, outcome measures, dependencies, and escalation needs.

  • Help establish and approve clinical standards, appropriateness criteria, escalation pathways, protocols, and medical risk boundaries, including physician review or signature where required.

  • Identify clinical, operational, or patient-safety improvement opportunities and recommend practical, proportionate solutions informed by the available evidence and potential risk.

  • Partner with Quality, Radiology, Nursing, Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Marketing, Sales, and other teams to translate clinical standards into safe, accurate, and operationally feasible workflows, patient communications, and educational resources.

  • Provide physician-level clinical validation, risk assessment, and safety input for new products, services, AI tools, imaging pathways, and patient-facing communications before launch.

  • Assess emerging technologies and clinical decision-support systems for clinical utility, limitations, and regulatory considerations to inform adoption decisions.

  • Develop and deliver clinical education for physicians, nurse practitioners, other healthcare professionals, enterprise partners, and internal teams, and supporting clinician development and mentorship while respecting established operational and reporting structures.

  • Represent Prenuvo in physician-to-physician interactions with enterprise partners, referring clinicians, professional conferences, media, and external clinical stakeholders.

  • Proactively escalate any scheduling constraints, project dependencies, and competing priorities.

  • Stay informed about developments in preventive medicine, medical imaging, digital health, genetics, artificial intelligence, clinical regulation, and evidence-based longevity science.

  • Support Chicago in-clinic staff with appropriate escalations as needed.

What You’ll Bring

  • An M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited U.S. medical school or an equivalent domestic or international institution.

  • An active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Illinois, with the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain licensure in additional states as required.

  • Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Preventive Medicine, or another relevant primary care specialty.

  • At least five years of clinical experience in primary care, preventive medicine, lifestyle medicine, integrative medicine, or a closely related field.

  • Experience providing personalized preventive care, including risk-based disease prevention, lifestyle counseling, and coordination of appropriate clinical follow-up.

  • Strong telehealth experience and confidence conducting complex virtual patient consultations.

  • Experience or demonstrated expertise in genetics, genomics, longevity medicine, biomarkers, advanced imaging, or emerging preventive technologies is strongly preferred.

  • The ability to understand clinical evidence, recognize the limitations of emerging tests and technologies, and communicate uncertainty responsibly.

  • A record of taking initiative, making reasonable first-draft decisions, and advancing projects without waiting for perfect information or complete consensus.

  • The ability to translate a concern into a clear description of the evidence, patient or organizational risk, and a proposed solution.

  • Demonstrated experience developing clinical programs, educational materials, quality initiatives, policies, protocols, or other measurable work products.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to educate patients, clinicians, business leaders, and nonclinical stakeholders.

  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work productively across clinical, operational, technical, legal, and commercial teams.

  • Comfort using electronic medical records, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, virtual communication tools, and other healthcare technology platforms.

  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence, LLMs, clinical decision-support tools, or digital health product development is preferred.

  • Excellent judgment, organization, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and execute reliably in an ambiguous, fast-growing, evolving healthcare environment.

  • Prior healthcare startup or innovation experience is preferred.

  • A strong commitment to patient confidentiality, ethical clinical practice, evidence-based care, and professional accountability.
