Full job description

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, analytical Business Development Executive with a strong background in information security to join our Leviathan Security Group practice area. You’ll manage a portfolio of key client accounts, building a precise strategy for each one that reflects the client’s environment, risk profile, and business goals, and adapting it as their budgets and priorities shift. You’ll bring a systematic, data-driven approach to relationship management, using account and pipeline data to plan your work, measure results, and build long-term relationships grounded in trust and reliability. With our sales engineer, you’ll scope engagements accurately enough for our delivery team to execute them well and profitably, working closely with Technical Services, Risk and Advisory Services, and the Program Management Office from first conversation through kickoff. Your careful planning and follow-through will directly drive Leviathan’s growth and strengthen our presence in the market.

This is a remote role in the USA. • Meet or exceed annual bookings quota by sourcing, qualifying, and closing new business, with at least 30% new client logos per year.

  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of at least 3x quarterly quota through proactive outreach, referrals, partner relationships, and industry events, positioning Leviathan’s services against each prospect’s specific risks and compliance needs.

  • Grow existing accounts by securing annual retests, follow-on work, and retainers, retaining recurring work and generating bookings from current clients.

  • Produce clear, accurate proposals and statements of work within 3 to 5 business days of discovery, partnering with the Director of Business Development on pricing to protect target margins.

  • Ensure a smooth transition from sale to delivery by providing Technical Services, Risk and Advisory Services, and the Program Management Office with a complete handoff (scope, rules of engagement, contacts, timelines) before every kickoff and use client feedback to strengthen future engagements.

  • Keep CRM pipeline and forecast data current, maintaining accurate client profiles and deal status.

  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent is required.

  • 3+ years of hands-on offensive security experience (penetration testing, application security testing, or red teaming), either at a consultancy or on an internal security team.

  • 2+ years of quota-carrying sales, sales engineering, or pre-sales experience for security services or products.

  • Ability to accurately scope penetration testing engagements and explain methodology, tooling, and findings to both technical and executive audiences.

  • Experience writing proposals or statements of work.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-directed work style suited to a remote environment, working independently and under pressure while maintaining a high level of responsiveness to clients.

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills in diverse situations, showing drive, initiative, energy, and a strong sense of urgency in acquiring and supporting clients.

  • Offensive security certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, GPEN, GWAPT, or CRTO preferred.

  • Experience selling at a boutique or mid-sized consultancy preferred.

  • An existing network of security buyers in the Pacific Northwest or target verticals preferred.

  • Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms preferred.
