Job Description
The Assistant Controller will lead a team of accounting and accounts payable professionals while partnering closely with executive leadership, treasury, FP&A, tax, operations, internal stakeholders, external auditors, and shareholder representatives. This role requires a hands-on leader who combines strong technical accounting expertise with exceptional leadership, communication, and business acumen. The successful candidate will be a proven high performer with public accounting experience, a track record of progressive leadership in industry, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. This position offers significant executive exposure and is viewed as a key leadership succession role within the Finance organization.
175-215K depending on years of experience.
Skills and Requirements
- CPA license required and maintained in active status.
- 8-12+ years of progressive Accounting or Finance experience.
- Combination of public accounting and private industry experience
- Demonstrated success leading accounting teams and developing accounting professionals.
- Experience supporting external audits for large or complex organizations
- Proficiency with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems (Epicor preferred) and Visual Lease.
- Master’s degree (MBA or Master’s in Accounting/Finance).
- Previous experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm or nationally recognized public accounting firm
- Experience in a distribution, logistics, or supply chain environment
