Brief Description of Duties:

The Syracuse Educational Opportunity Center (SEOC) is seeking dedicated and student-centered Adjunct English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Instructors to provide engaging, in-person instruction for adult English language learners. This part-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students develop English language proficiency. Instructional opportunities are available during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, based on program and course scheduling needs.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Teach (1) in-person English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course.

  • Prepare and deliver engaging classroom instruction that supports adult learner success, including the use of the Brightspace learning management system.

  • Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records.

  • Assess student progress and provide academic support and feedback throughout the semester.

  • Submit grades and required documentation by established deadlines.

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success and program goals.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, or related field

  • At least one (1) year of teaching experience in an educational setting.

  • Knowledge of ESOL instruction and adult language acquisition.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to supporting the academic success of adult English language learners.
