Job Summary :

The Graduate Nurse (GN) is responsible for the provision of nursing care under the direction and supervision of registered nurse (RN). The GN applies the nursing process and performs delegated functions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and CHMC policies.

Education :
-
Graduation from an accredited nursing program (AA, BSN, or MSN).

Registration/Certification/Licensure :
-
Graduation from an accredited nursing program. After successful completion of nursing boards and receipt of licensure, GN will move to RN role.

Experience :

New Graduate Nurse

Other Requirements :
-
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.

BLS Required

Must be in pursuit of license s a registered nurse. Must take NCLEX exam with 90 days of hire.
-
May not continue practicing as a GN if NCLEX is failed.
