Full job description

Overview

Developers need useful examples, credible answers, and a reason to build on Microsoft's products and platforms. Microsoft Foundry is seeking a technical marketer who can build with the product, earn trust in developer communities, and turn campaign ideas into sustained product engagement.

You will lead technical campaigns and be a visible product voice, working closely with Deveroleloper Relations, existing channel owners, and peer PMM teams. You will create and explain working examples, participate where builders already spend time, and connect what you learn to better marketing and product decisions. The emphasis is on audience judgment, campaign delivery, and credible engagement, backed by practical coding ability.

Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities

Technical campaigns

  • Lead technical campaigns and developer-engagement programs around customer needs and useful product capabilities. Define the audience, message, technical proof, and intended customer action, and agree execution and distribution responsibilities with relevant engagement and publishing partners.

  • Build and adapt code samples, working examples, and demos for campaigns and education. Partner with Demos and Customer Acquisition on shared implementations and technical readiness; that role leads reusable demo assets and acquisition-experience experiments.

  • Create practical tutorials, technical videos, live sessions, and explainers that channel and publishing partners can use. Verify claims and availability with Product and Engineering, and align the publishing plan with those partners.

Community engagement

  • Contribute a credible technical voice in relevant developer communities, working with established engagement partners. Answer substantive questions, build relationships with practitioners, and exercise independent judgment within agreed escalation and disclosure guidelines.

  • Work with Developer Relations and community partners on technical education and engagement programs, agreeing each team's deliverables. Turn recurring questions and useful community examples into content and product feedback, with publishing operations and launch coordination handled by the relevant partners.

  • Engage directly in communities on Discord, Reddit, and other channels to help customers, and bring product leaders into those conversations when their expertise is needed.

Adoption and feedback

  • This role is collaborative across the Azure AI PMM team with part of the job function to manage and triage inbound asks across the broader portfolio.

  • Make the next action appropriate to each campaign's audience and objective. Partner with Data and Growth and analytics teams to agree success measures and comparable baselines for meaningful engagement, product use, and qualified follow-through. Interpret results and use the evidence to improve campaign and community programs.

  • Bring recurring developer friction and unmet needs to Product and Engineering, track responses, and close the loop with the community when changes ship. Prioritize campaigns, community activity, and analyst support with the team so each has a manageable scope.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in business OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years marketing or sales experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in business OR equivalent experience.

  • Hands-on experience in technical marketing, developer relations, software engineering, or technical product management, including building and explaining working software.

  • Ability to write and debug code, use APIs and developer tools, and explain implementation choices and limitations to a technical audience.

  • Experience designing and delivering technical campaigns or developer programs, creating useful content, and engaging directly with developer communities.

  • Strong public communication and interpersonal judgment, including the ability to respond independently and recognize when an issue needs escalation

  • Experience with AI models, agents, cloud platforms, or open-source developer ecosystems.

  • A portfolio of technical campaigns, public talks, tutorials, samples, or community contributions with evidence of sustained engagement or adoption.

  • Experience connecting community feedback to product improvements and coordinating work across marketing and Developer Relations.
