Reporter / Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) /Visual Storyteller CW39 – KIAH | Houston, TX is ideal for a journalist who takes initiative, thinks creatively, and understands how to shape stories differently for broadcast, digital, streaming, and social audiences.
We value journalists who think beyond a single platform, communicate clearly, and aren’t afraid to try new ways of telling stories. If you’re motivated, creative, and excited about multi-platform journalism, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
-
Create original, enterprise stories for multiple platforms, including broadcast, digital, streaming and social
-
Capture compelling video and photography that bring stories to life and enhance audience engagement.

Demonstrate strong news photography skills, including sequencing and visual storytelling.

Pitch and develop story ideas that reflect Houston’s diverse communities and perspectives
-
Operate as a self-starter, owning stories from concept through execution
-
Write, shoot, edit, and present content across platforms
-
Communicate clearly with producers and newsroom managers on story direction and goals
-
Experiment with creative, non-traditional storytelling approaches to better engage audiences
-
Ensure all content meets editorial standards and journalistic integrity guidelines

Contribute to digital and social coverage, including audience engagement

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field
-
At least three years of on-air reporting experience
-
Strong photography and videography skills with a demonstrated ability to tell stories visually.

A portfolio that showcases excellent shooting, editing and visual storytelling abilities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Confident on-air presence with the ability to ad-lib when needed
-
Self-starter who consistently generates original, multi-platform story ideas
-
Passion for creative, innovative, non-traditional storytelling
-
Ability to manage deadlines and multiple projects
-
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, nights, and weekends
