Full job description

Ellis Medicine is seeking an Interventional Cardiologist to join our growing cardiovascular team in Schenectady, New York. This is an excellent opportunity for an Interventional Cardiologist who is looking to join an established health system and provide comprehensive, high-quality cardiovascular care to patients throughout the Capital Region.

The ideal candidate is a board-certified or board-eligible Interventional Cardiologist who is committed to patient-centered care and enjoys working collaboratively with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, primary care physicians, and other specialists.

Position Highlights

Clinical Responsibilities

The Interventional Cardiologist will provide evaluation and management of patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, with an emphasis on coronary and interventional care, including:

  • Coronary artery disease

  • Acute coronary syndromes

  • Complex coronary artery disease

  • Heart failure and ischemic cardiomyopathy

  • Valvular heart disease

  • Peripheral vascular disease, as applicable

  • Other general and complex cardiovascular conditions

Procedural responsibilities may include:

  • Diagnostic cardiac catheterization

  • Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)

  • Coronary angiography

  • Complex coronary interventions

  • Management of patients with acute coronary syndromes

  • Participation in STEMI and other acute cardiac care services, as applicable

  • Collaboration with non-invasive cardiology and electrophysiology

  • Other interventional procedures based on training and clinical expertise

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Comprehensive outpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up care

  • Inpatient cardiology consultation and management

  • Collaboration with referring physicians and multidisciplinary care teams

  • Participation in shared cardiology call responsibilities

  • Participation in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology

  • Licensed (or eligible) to practice in New York State

  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care

Recruitment Package

Ellis Medicine offers a competitive recruitment package designed to support your professional and personal transition to our organization, including:

  • Guaranteed base salary of $700,000–$800,000 for the first two years

  • Following the initial two-year guaranteed base period, the Structural Heart Cardiologist will have the opportunity to participate in the Cardiology Pool Model, in which RVU and quality incentive compensation models are shared among eligible pool members. Entry into the Pool Model is based on meeting an annual RVU threshold

  • The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.

  • $25,000 starting bonus

  • Relocation assistance up to $20,000

  • CME allowance and dedicated CME time
