Full job description
We’re accelerating the pace of mineral discovery. Our drill targeting software has gone 8 for 8 hitting mineralized targets, a significant improvement over industry standards. Now the biggest mining companies in the world want results on their ground, and we deliver them as a service. As a Project Geologist, you’ll lead customer-facing projects from first conversation to final deliverable. You’ll scope the work with chief geologists and exploration teams, use our software, Python APIs, and modeling tools to produce geological results, then present those results and work through them with the customer’s geologists. You’ll work on projects around the world, see many deposit styles, and bring what you learn back to our product and research teams. The role sits between geology, software, and the customer, and you’ll work closely with the founders. What You’ll Do
- Lead customer projects end to end: scope, timeline, delivery, and follow-up
- Use our software, Python APIs, and modeling tools to generate geological results and drill targets
- Run technical discovery with customers and work with our science and engineering teams to turn their geology into project scope and pricing
- Onboard customers onto our software and train their geologists
- Present technical results to customer geologists and executives
- Guide exploration thinking and drilling decisions in partnership with customers
- Write proposals, statements of work, and technical reports
- Bring customer feedback to the product and research teams
- Join customer field campaigns and site visits as needed
About You
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in geology, economic geology, or a related earth science field
- 3+ years of hands-on mineral exploration experience, including field programs, core logging, sampling, and data collection
- Comfortable with Python, scripting, and 3D modeling and GIS tools
- Credible and personable with experienced geologists and executives; you can discuss ore deposit models, drill targeting, and data quality at a peer level
- Comfortable owning a project, its timeline, and the customer relationship
- Interested in technology for mineral exploration
- Able to travel to customer sites and remote parts of the US and world
Bonus Points For
- Experience developing software tools for exploration
