Full job description
We’re accelerating the pace of mineral discovery. Our AI drill targeting software has gone 8 for 8 hitting mineralized targets, a significant improvement over industry standards. Now the biggest mining companies in the world want it. We’re hiring a Business Development Manager to find them, earn their trust, and bring them on as customers. You’ll own our pipeline from first conversation to signed project: working with chief geologists and exploration teams to understand what they’re trying to find, then working with our project geologists and scientists to turn that into a scoped, priced project. You’ll work directly with the founders, help shape how we sell, and work with our Business Development Representative to keep the pipeline full. What You’ll Do
- Own the sales pipeline and drive revenue growth, from first conversation through signed project
- Identify, pursue, and win new opportunities with mining and exploration companies, from juniors to majors
- Run technical discovery calls and work with our project geologists and scientists to turn customers’ geology into project scope, timelines, and pricing
- Write proposals, statements of work, and marketing materials
- Present our technology and results to technical and executive audiences
- Maintain customer relationships and find opportunities to expand them
- Forecast and report on pipeline and revenue
- Represent ExploreTech at conferences and customer sites
- Bring customer feedback to the product and research teams
About You
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in geology, geophysics, mining engineering, or a related field, or a professional background in mining or mineral exploration
- 3+ years of experience in business development or sales for mining, mineral exploration, or exploration technology, or equivalent experience working inside mining companies
- A record of winning new business or projects with mining or exploration customers
- Credible with technical buyers: you can discuss ore deposit models, drill targeting, and data quality at a peer level
- Clear, concise communicator who can explain AI and geophysics to a skeptical geologist and a CFO in the same week
- Comfortable with a CRM, pipeline reporting, and writing proposals
- Able to travel to conferences, customer sites, and remote parts of the US and world
Bonus Points For
- Experience selling software, data, or services to mining companies
- Startup experience
- Experience mentoring or working with junior team members
