Job Description

Insight Global's candidate is looking for a Senior Loads & Dynamics Analyst for our client. The Senior Loads & Dynamics Analyst will lead loads development and dynamic analysis for solid rocket motors, vehicles, all-up-rounds, and propulsion systems. This role will support products from development through qualification and production, providing analysis and technical feedback to design, test, and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform loads development and dynamic analysis for motor and vehicle programs, including vibration, shock, modal, acoustic, and system-level dynamics.
  • Develop load spectra and propagate loads to motor and vehicle components for service-life assessment.
  • Develop, verify, validate, and improve structural models and analytical methods.
  • Partner with test teams to define testing and instrumentation needed to validate analytical models.
  • Support design teams with analysis and recommendations throughout development and qualification.
  • Assess nonconforming hardware and provide recommended engineering dispositions and repairs.
  • Support the transition from development through low-rate and full-rate production.
  • Develop and improve analysis processes, models, and tools to increase engineering efficiency.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to other engineers.

Salary range: $111,000 - $138,000

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of dynamic analysis experience.
  • Strong experience with dynamic loads, modal analysis, vibration, shock response, and/or acoustics.
  • Experience developing and validating analytical models against physical test data.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or a related field focused on solid mechanics, fatigue, fracture, or structural dynamics.
  • Experience developing loads for vehicle, propulsion, and/or solid rocket motor applications.
  • GFEM development and model validation experience.
  • FEA/FEM experience using ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, Femap, or similar tools.
  • Experience with low-cycle fatigue, fracture mechanics, crack growth, safe-life analysis, LEFM, and/or NASGRO.
  • Experience defining solid rocket motor dynamic environments and supporting dynamic acceptance/qualification testing.
  • Thermal-structural analysis experience, including nonlinear materials and large strains.
  • Knowledge of composites, insulation, ablative thermal protection, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and/or compressible flow.
  • Experience with safety-critical production hardware, failure investigations, and root-cause analysis.
