Full job description

About MISUMI Americas

MISUMI Americas, a division of MISUMI Group, is a leading provider of standard, configurable, and custom manufacturing solutions. By integrating a vast catalog of components with a world-class digital manufacturing platform, MISUMI Americas empowers engineers and procurement teams to accelerate innovation across the entire product lifecycle. With operations in the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago, the company serves as a vital partner for the most innovative companies in the Americas.

Impact In This Role

In this role, you’ll own the positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy for our unified platform that brings standard, configurable, and custom mechanical components together under one sourcing experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Owning platform positioning and messaging — articulating why a unified platform across standard, configurable, and custom components matters, and how AI-driven quoting, automated DFM, and global manufacturing capacity come together as a single value proposition

  • Partnering closely with Product Management and Engineering to shape product messaging, positioning, and competitive strategy, and to feed customer and market insight back into roadmap decisions

  • Championing an AI-driven mindset — helping identify and articulate where AI can enhance the applications and solutions we deliver to customers, and translating those capabilities into clear market-facing value

  • Developing clear, effective messaging by persona and industry vertical — including machine builders, mechanical engineers, and supply chain/procurement leaders — for use in marketing and sales campaigns

  • Maintaining up-to-date messaging and product marketing assets across the platform and technology stack

  • Interacting with customers and sales reps to document win/loss analysis and deepen our understanding of our target audience

  • Evaluating MISUMI Americas positioning against the competition — including both distribution-model players and digital manufacturing competitors — to sharpen differentiation in the market

  • Directing launch campaigns for new platform capabilities and technology releases

  • Partnering with Product Marketing and Marketing teams to build world-class content, sales tools, and other digital assets — emails, ads, web landing pages, brochures, and technical positioning — that build pipeline and drive bookings

  • Enabling our sales teams with product trainings and sales enablement materials

  • Identifying case studies and testimonials that provide clear, quantifiable examples of the platform’s value

Desired Traits

  • 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing/supply chain technology, sales, and/or product marketing roles, ideally including technical or platform products

  • B.S. in engineering or B.A. in business, marketing, or other relevant field

  • An AI-driven mindset — you’re comfortable thinking about how AI can enhance the applications and solutions we deliver to customers, and you can translate that thinking into product positioning and go-to-market strategy

  • Proven experience marketing SaaS products or software applications — you understand platform-based business models, release cycles, and how to position software value to both technical and business buyers

  • Direct experience with manufacturing and/or supply chain technology systems (e.g., ERP, MES, PLM, procurement/sourcing platforms, or similar systems) — you understand how these systems fit into a customer’s broader technology stack and workflow

  • Hands-on manufacturing experience or a strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal, 3D printing) and how they map to engineering and sourcing decisions

  • You are a strategic thinker, able to translate complex technical capability into clear, focused messaging and actions

  • You are an excellent writer, comfortable developing blogs, brochures, and landing page copy

  • You are highly organized and a strong project manager, able to keep multiple stakeholders — Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing — on track toward a launch deadline

  • Comfortable working in a matrix-driven model across a company integrating two organizations and scaling a platform in real time

  • Experience marketing to a span of personas, from technical and operational audiences (e.g., mechanical engineers, machine builders) to senior-level executives (e.g., manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, operations)

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Ability to travel 25% annually in North America for team meetings, customer meetings, offsites, trade shows, conferences, supplier partner meetings.

  • Office or remote work that involves extended periods of computer and phone use

Salary Range: $175,000 to $190,000 per year
