Test Engineer

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving two primary markets – passenger vehicle and commercial truck equipment – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities. Job Duties and Responsibilities

Test Development & Execution

• Develop and execute validation and verification test plans for mechatronic systems and components.

• Design, build, and maintain test fixtures, test stands, and automated test equipment.

• Define test methodologies, procedures, and acceptance criteria based on product requirements and industry standards.

• Conduct functional, performance, durability, environmental, and reliability testing.

• Support root cause investigations and failure analysis activities.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze test data, develop technical conclusions, and communicate results through reports and presentations.

Product Development Support

• Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Software, Quality, and Engineering teams.

• Review product requirements and specifications to ensure testability and validation coverage.

• Provide technical input during design reviews and risk assessments.

• Support prototype, pilot, and production validation activities.

Laboratory Operations

• Maintain laboratory equipment, processes, and safety standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance & Quality

• Ensure testing activities comply with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and company procedures.

• Support DFMEA, PFMEA, Design Verification Plans (DVP&R), and quality documentation.

• Participate in corrective and preventive action activities.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.

• 4+ years of experience in product testing, validation, or engineering laboratory environments.

• Experience testing electromechanical systems, sensors, actuators, motors, or automated equipment.

• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

• Experience with data acquisition systems and test instrumentation.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Self-motivated team player with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.

• Valid driver's license.

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds repetitively and stand for approximately 50% of the workday.
