About the Role:

We are seeking a Linux Infrastructure Engineer to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise Linux environments across on-premises data centers and public cloud platforms. This role focuses on Linux system administration, infrastructure automation using Ansible, middleware management, DNS services, and CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices. The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security hardening expertise to ensure high availability, reliability, and operational efficiency across mission-critical systems. This individual will collaborate with infrastructure, security, DevOps, and application teams to support continuous improvement and maintain enterprise infrastructure standards.

This position has full time onsite responsibilities. This individual must be able to commute for onsite work 5 days a week to our office in Plano, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, administer, and optimize large-scale Linux server environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE) across on-prem and cloud platforms.

  • Support and enhance core infrastructure components including DNS, DHCP, NTP, load balancers, firewalls, and reverse proxies.

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain middleware platforms such as Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, or similar enterprise stacks.

  • Build and maintain automation for configuration management, patching, and provisioning using Ansible, Ansible Tower/AWX, or equivalent tools.

  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated deployment workflows.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues across compute, storage, networking, and OS layers with strong root-cause analysis.

  • Manage OS patching, kernel upgrades, performance tuning, and security hardening (SELinux, CIS benchmarks).

  • Support cloud-based Linux workloads on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including EC2/VMs, storage, IAM, networking, and monitoring.

  • Collaborate with architecture, security, DevOps, and application teams to ensure platform reliability and compliance.

  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational standards for enterprise Linux environments.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and support critical production systems with high availability requirements.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on Linux engineering experience in enterprise environments.

  • Strong expertise in Linux OS internals, system administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

  • Solid understanding of compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and data center operations.

  • Hands-on experience with DNS, including bind/unbound, zone management, DNSSEC, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with middleware platforms (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, etc.).

  • Strong proficiency with Ansible for automation, configuration management, and orchestration.

  • Experience with at least one major public cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).

  • Strong scripting skills in either Bash or Python.

  • Experience with monitoring and logging platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).

  • Understanding of security hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance frameworks.

  • Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.

  • Must be eligible to work in the US for any employer without restrictions.

  • Must be able to commute for onsite work 5 days a week to our office in Plano, TX.
