The Opportunity

Power Integrations is seeking an exceptional executive to redefine quality as a strategic competitive advantage. This leader will transform quality from a functional discipline into an enterprise capability that accelerates innovation, strengthens customer confidence, improves product reliability and enables profitable growth. As a fabless semiconductor company, the role spans the entire product lifecycle—from architecture through field performance—while driving excellence across external wafer fabrication, assembly and test partners.

Mission

Build a world-class Product & Quality Excellence organization that embeds quality into every engineering decision, every supplier relationship and every customer experience.

Executive Mandate

  • Create an enterprise-wide Quality First culture where quality is designed into products rather than inspected into them.

  • Own end-to-end product quality, reliability engineering, supplier quality, customer quality and quality systems.

  • Partner with Engineering to strengthen Design for Quality, verification, failure analysis and reliability methodologies.

  • Lead quality across outsourced manufacturing partners, ensuring robust process controls, change management and continuous improvement.

  • Establish executive quality governance, enterprise KPIs and Board-level reporting.

First-Year Transformation Priorities

First 90 Days: Assess product quality, reliability, supplier performance, customer escalations, organizational capability and quality systems. Build executive alignment and establish the transformation roadmap.

90–180 Days: Launch Design for Quality, supplier excellence and customer quality initiatives. Implement enterprise dashboards, governance and standardized quality reviews.

180–365 Days: Deliver measurable improvements in field reliability, manufacturing quality, supplier performance, customer satisfaction and organizational quality maturity while building a sustainable culture of continuous improvement.

Measures of Success

  • Reduced field failures and customer returns

  • Improved product reliability and qualification effectiveness

  • Higher supplier quality and manufacturing yields

  • Reduced Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)

  • Faster root cause analysis and corrective actions

  • Improved customer satisfaction and strategic account confidence

  • Enterprise adoption of a Quality First mindset

Ideal Executive Profile

  • 20+ years of semiconductor industry leadership with significant experience in analog, mixed-signal or power semiconductors.

  • Executive leadership in product quality, reliability engineering, supplier quality and customer quality.

  • Experience operating within a fabless semiconductor model using external manufacturing partners.

  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise transformation and influencing executive leadership and Boards.

  • Technical depth combined with strategic business acumen and exceptional leadership.

Leadership Competencies

  • Enterprise leadership and systems thinking

  • Strategic quality transformation

  • Engineering partnership and technical credibility

  • Customer obsession

  • Data-driven decision making

  • Global influence without authority

  • Talent development and succession planning

  • Executive communication and Board presence
