SponsorUniversity Regional Sponsorship Scout About SponsorUnited

Our proprietary platform, the SponsorUnited Pro Tool, is trusted by 96% of major professional sports teams, global brands, agencies, media companies, colleges, and vendors. Scouts use the Pro Tool to capture and organize sponsorship intelligence that contributes directly to the dataset analyzed across the sponsorship ecosystem.

SponsorUnited Scouts see sports and entertainment differently. As a Regional Sponsorship Scout, you will help uncover the brand partnerships behind teams, venues, and events in your local market, contributing to the sponsorship intelligence used across the industry.

This is a hands-on internship for curious, dependable people who want to understand how brands show up in sports and entertainment. You will learn how to identify sponsorship assets, research brand relationships, document activity accurately, and contribute directly to SponsorUnited's database. Depending on market needs and available assignments, Scouts may also have opportunities to attend approved local events and capture sponsorship activity on-site.

  • Compensation: Unpaid internship; approved event tickets and venue-access costs are provided for assigned in-person scouting opportunities

  • Academic credit: Available upon school approval

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research to capture complete and accurate sponsorship information.

  • Submit observations and supporting information to SponsorUnited's sponsorship database.

  • Communicate progress, questions, and scheduling needs proactively with leadership.

Who Thrives in This Role

This role is a strong fit for someone who is:

  • Curious and detail-oriented: You notice what others may miss and enjoy figuring out how brands, venues, and sports properties connect.

  • Self-directed: You can manage assignments independently, start work early, and take ownership of your responsibilities with appropriate guidance and support from leadership.

  • Communicative: You ask questions rather than make assumptions, share updates, and raise concerns early.

  • Receptive to feedback: You take notes, welcome constructive feedback, and apply it to improve quickly.

  • Reliable and organized: You can protect time for the program throughout the full term and balance it responsibly with school, work, and other commitments.

  • Professional and engaged: You arrive prepared, communicate respectfully, and take pride in doing thorough work.

  • Able to commit consistent time throughout the six-month term.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.

  • Interest in sports, entertainment, sponsorships, business intelligence, or related fields.

  • Access to a reliable smartphone, computer, and internet connection.

Prior sponsorship experience may be beneficial but is not required. Candidate success is determined primarily by individual engagement, communication, willingness to learn, and commitment throughout the program.

What You'll Gain

  • Direct exposure to sponsorship activations and partnership strategy across sports and entertainment.

  • A practical understanding of how brands, teams, venues, media, and agencies interact.

  • Experience identifying, analyzing, and reporting sponsorship assets.

  • Training and mentorship from a fast-growing sports data company.

  • Flexible assignments designed to work around your school schedule.

  • Academic credit where applicable and a Certificate of Completion after successful completion.
