The UTC Coordinator will often be the first point of contact in the delivery of services to our students and faculty at the Health Sciences Campus (HSC), and must uphold high standards of excellence in customer service and support of UTC's programs and services. The UTC Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Director in overall management, staff supervision, budget, and vision of the centers.

  • Primary point of contact for Upstate Medical assessments at HSC, managing room reservation logistics.

  • Assist with developing/delivering campus presentations; serve as primary presenter for all HSC UTC presentations.

  • Actively proctor exams, executing active monitoring and ongoing asynchronous administrative tasks during low-distraction windows.

  • Enforce testing protocols and policies; document and report suspected academic dishonesty.

  • Provide basic troubleshooting for testing software, hardware, and assistive technologies, collaborating with campus IT.

  • Support student staff; provide leadership/guidance when Director is unavailable.

  • Assist in supervising 2-3 HSC student proctors, developing training curriculum, and leading HSC proctor orientation.

  • Provide coverage for Main Campus testing center as needed, including proctoring or substituting for Director.

  • Manage receipt and return of exam materials with faculty in a timely, secure manner.

  • Generate records and compile data/reports on center usage and volume for operational assessment.

  • Maintain security and confidentiality of testing materials in compliance with FERPA.

  • Collaborate with SSD and other offices; serve on university committees and represent UTC at campus events.

  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty via in-person, email, and phone.

  • Demonstrate independent time management; project completion is a standard performance metric.

  • Shift operational focus to project completion and logistical prep during off-peak periods (Aug, Jan, summer).

  • Work occasional evenings/weekends, and be fully available during finals week for extended periods.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
