Full job description

Description

Prime Video is looking to fill a Senior Financial Analyst role with full P&L exposure for our US Prime Video Subscriptions business (a la carte add-on subscriptions to third-party video subscription services). Subscriptions is a key component of the Prime Video business providing a breadth of selection to customers.

Prime Video offers customers the greatest choice in what to watch including Amazon Original hits like Rings of Power, Jack Ryan, and Off Campus, 3P Channel subscriptions like Max and Paramount+, live events like Thursday Night Football games, and a large catalog of transactional (rent or buy). The Prime Video team comprises individuals who are all obsessively focused on one mission: to give consumers the world’s best-in-class digital video customer experience. Prime Video delivers an entertainment destination unlike any other—fast, reliable, personal, effortless, and delightful.

The successful candidate will have shown experience in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision making in rapidly evolving environments. This role requires a self-starter who is comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with strong data gathering and modeling skills. The role also has regular interaction with various business leaders and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage the financial planning and analysis effort and forecast various metrics for financial risks and opportunities

  • Report on the financial and business performance for the US business and lead in the preparation of weekly, monthly and annual financial reviews with senior management

  • Influence business decisions by effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and modeling, and presentation of alternatives

  • Leading ad hoc financial analyses and new business development initiatives

  • Driving cross-business analytic projects for senior management, with financial modeling, data mining and presentation support

About the team

We love Prime Video, but more broadly TV and film entertainment in general. Applying that passion on a daily basis and being able to connect our work to how Prime Video delivers for customers is what keeps us going. While we are a Finance team, we very much feel like part of the business teams and are treated as such.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of finance, accounting, or related analytical field experience

  • 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, tax, economics, or a related analytical field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
