Summary
Force Renewal Programs are designed to attract students & recent graduates with management/leadership potential to careers as Federal employees with the Air Force Civilian Service. This is accomplished by recruiting & selecting high-caliber candidates & training them to become competent, effective, & productive employees in a variety of career fields; providing training & developmental opportunities, and preparing them to successfully complete required training & developmental assignments.

Performs a variety of specific duties designed to develop knowledge and skill in applying program management responsibilities in support of systems acquisition. Participates in the development of management information systems (MIS) in support of customer needs. Carries out special projects designed to facilitate the full use of the intern's training and development. Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and professional developments to maintain currency in the field and for application to work assignments. GS-09 Participates in the planning and requirements determination process for Cyberspace and Information Technology (CIT) systems projects. Participates in program management responsibilities in support of systems acquisition initiatives. Performs management information system (MIS) assignments in support of customer needs. Carries out special projects designed to facilitate the full use of the intern's training and development. Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and professional developments to maintain currency in the field and for application to work assignments. *This is a formal AF intern position in the Recent Palace Acquire Program (PAQ) and as such, it is centrally funded by HQ AFPC/DPZS. Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: **All educational requirements must be met no later than June 2027. GS-7: Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A) for two-grade interval positions in a course of study that directly reflects the job-related KSAs/competencies necessary to satisfy the minimum qualifications and perform the duties of the position. S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. a) Class standing-upper third of the graduating class based on completed courses in the college, university, or major subdivision. b) Grade Point Average -Grade-point averages are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9. c) Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society (note: freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this position).*Submit a copy of your transcript, (a degree audit will not be accepted). If qualifying based on class standing or honor society membership, provide appropriate documentation. GS-9: Master's (or equivalent graduate degree such as LL.B. or J.D. as specified in qualification standards or individual occupational requirements) in a course of study that directly reflects the job-related KSAs/competencies necessary to satisfy the minimum qualifications and perform the duties of the position, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of IT principles, techniques, requirements, methods and practices to participate in a variety of routine IT specialist assignments. Knowledge of the principles, policies, and practices of acquisition and program management to carry out assignments in support of planning, organizing and managing software and hardware systems acquisition. Knowledge to assist in the development and maintenance portions of IT system capabilities which support the operation, planning, management, analysis and decision-making functions of the customer. Analytical and evaluation skills to assess systems of IT programs and/or equipment for capability in meeting customer or project requirements. Oral and written communication skills for effective working relationships, interaction with customers, and presentation of findings and proposals.
