Full job description

Consequential Work. Dedicated People.

About Onebrief

Onebrief builds collaboration and AI-powered workflow software for military planning and operational coordination. Military planning is complex by nature, requiring teams to coordinate information, people, and decisions across systems and locations. Onebrief brings planning, collaboration, simulation, and AI into one connected environment, helping teams test strategies, adapt to changing conditions, and make decisions with greater clarity when the stakes are real. We are a distributed team of builders from military, operational, and technology backgrounds who care deeply about improving how important work gets done. Some team members work remotely, while others work directly alongside customers in operational environments around the world. Founded in 2019, Onebrief is backed by leading investors including General Catalyst, Battery Ventures, Insight Partners, Sapphire Ventures, and Human Capital. Valued at more than $2 billion, we continue to invest in product innovation, AI capabilities, and team growth.

Why This Role Exists Onebrief is hiring an AI Marketing Specialist to help a small, but growing marketing team move faster. Our software supports teams making critical operational decisions, and our marketing team has deep expertise in the product, the customer, and the full range of marketing. What we want to add is someone who can multiply that expertise with AI, automation, and smart systems. In this role, you will work directly with the head of marketing from day one and ship real projects from week one. You’ll build workflows, connect tools, and create the foundations that let marketing, growth, capture, partnerships, and customer support work together more smoothly. You may also help guide with website expansion and redesign efforts as well as campaign, event, and GTM motions as needed. This is a high-learning role. You’ll be surrounded by people who know our customers and product deeply, and you’ll bring a fresh view of what’s now possible with AI. Marketing knowledge and experience is essential, but we care as much about what you can build and put to work as we do about how long you’ve been in marketing.

Travel Expectations Travel may be required for this role and would be expected to be less than 20%, depending on evolving business needs.

What You’ll Do Core responsibilities:

  • Design and build AI-powered workflows that save the team time and raise the quality of our work.

  • Connect the systems our teams rely on, using APIs, no-code automation, or scripting, so data and work move between marketing, growth, capture, partnerships, and customer support without manual effort.

  • Build the early technical foundations for how we measure and understand marketing performance, in partnership with our future marketing operations and analytics function.

  • Identify bottlenecks across the team and propose, prototype, and ship solutions.

  • Help plan and support the redesign of our website, working with design, product, and marketing partners.

  • Use AI design tools to turn ideas into fast first drafts of visuals, decks, and web concepts, then hand off to our brand designer for polish.

  • Support campaigns, events, and content including research, drafting, analysis, and production.

  • Document what you build so the team can adopt it, maintain it, and extend it.

  • Stay current on the AI landscape and bring new tools and ideas to the team, with a point of view on what’s worth adopting and what isn’t.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing, growth, operations, or a related field. Freelance, agency, in-house, and self-directed work all count equally.

  • A portfolio or project walkthrough showing something you’ve built or automated with AI, and the result it produced

  • Experience using AI design and prototyping tools, such as Claude Design, to quickly produce drafts, mockups, and decks that our brand designer can refine

  • Comfort with APIs, no-code automation, or scripting to connect systems and automate work

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people across functions

  • Self-direction: you spot problems, take ownership, and follow through without waiting to be told

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce, Slack, Figma, Claude, and OpenAI

  • Exposure to marketing, growth, or sales workflows, such as campaigns, lead management, or reporting

  • Familiarity with web design principles or Content Management Systems

  • Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or government customers is a plus, whether through military service, government contracting, or work in those industries

Indicators of Success This role will evolve as priorities change, but the outcomes below reflect what success typically looks like in the first six months. A successful AI Marketing Specialist will:

  • Have delivered multiple AI-driven or automation projects that measurably save the team time and improve performance.

  • Have connected key systems so information flows reliably across marketing, growth, and adjacent teams.

  • Have laid technical groundwork that lets our marketing operations and analytics efforts get off the ground.

  • Have become a go-to partner for teammates who want to work faster with marketing through AI.

  • Have contributed meaningfully to website redesign planning and execution.

  • Be recognized by the team as someone who brings ideas, not just completes tasks.
