Job Description

The Training Coordinator will be responsible for developing, organizing, and implementing a standardized training and skills development program within a manufacturing environment. This individual will work closely with operations leadership and technical subject matter experts to establish training requirements, document employee skill progression, and create a centralized system for tracking workforce qualifications.

This role will own the initial development and management of the Digital Skills & Training Matrix, helping establish a consistent process for tracking employees from initial training through full qualification. The Training Coordinator will also create the framework needed for the program to eventually transition to Production Line Managers for ongoing ownership.

Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain a centralized skills and training matrix for manufacturing employees Develop standardized employee proficiency levels from 0% to 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% qualified Establish role-specific training paths, skill requirements, and qualification criteria Create and organize standardized onboarding and training processes for hourly employees Partner with technical SMEs across areas such as Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Caulking, Drywall, and Carpentry to capture and document training content Build and maintain a comprehensive training library Track employee qualifications, training gaps, overdue requirements, and development progress Establish documentation requirements for supervisors and trainers at each stage of employee progression Coordinate with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Safety teams to ensure training aligns with current processes and standards Train leaders on how to use and maintain the training system Establish a sustainable process that can be transitioned to operational leadership for long-term ownership

Skills and Requirements

Experience supporting training, learning & development, HR operations, or workforce development within a manufacturing/industrial environment Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and the shop-floor environment Hands-on experience developing, coordinating, or documenting employee training programs Experience creating or maintaining skills matrices, training matrices, competency tracking, or qualification programs Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to build processes from the ground up Comfortable working directly with technical SMEs and production leadership to turn hands-on knowledge into documented training materials Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Ability to independently own a project, establish structure, and eventually transition the process to operational leadership Experience with Smartsheet Experience with Dozuki Background combining both HR/training and manufacturing operations Experience building standardized onboarding programs for hourly or skilled-trades employees Exposure to skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, mechanical, drywall, carpentry, or similar disciplines Experience working alongside Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and/or Safety teams Experience implementing a new training or workforce-development program from scratch
