Kingston, NY, USA | 18.42-23.54 per hour | Full Time

Role Summary

The Teacher Assistant (Early Head Start) supports the Lead Teacher to keep an Infant/Toddler classroom safe, organized, and aligned with Head Start Performance Standards and NYS OCFS early learning standards. You help implement HighScope and enhancements (Pyramid Model, I Am Moving I Am Learning, Outdoor Instruction), complete screenings and documentation in GoEngage, and enter child observations in COR.Required qualifications/skills:- CDA (Infant/Toddler) or obtain within 15 months; 2+ years with infants/toddlers- Strong written/verbal communication; parent engagement; teamwork; confidentiality- Microsoft Office; online assessment tools; Teams/Zoom- Knowledge of the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework- CPR/First Aid (current or willing to obtain)- Valid NYS driver’s license, reliable transportation; occasional overnight travel- Lift/carry up to 50 lbs; bend/squat/kneel; stay regulated during stressful momentsPay: $18.42–$23.54/hour. A Typical Day

You start onsite Monday–Friday (8:30 AM–4:00 PM) by checking in with the classroom team, reviewing the day’s plan, and getting the room ready before children arrive. During the day you rotate between play areas, routines, and outdoor time while keeping notes that will later be entered into GoEngage and COR. You’ll connect with families at drop-off/pick-up and, at times, join scheduled parent meetings or trainings.
