Full job description

Job Purpose

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) presents an opportunity for a full-time Senior QA Engineer to join one of our Technology teams.

The individual will be responsible for functional testing, designing and developing comprehensive automated test strategies and test cases for the various applications that support our business needs. The candidate should understand modern testing tools and frameworks. We are looking for a methodical tester who is naturally curious, eager to learn new tools and technologies, and quick to pick up new testing methods.

Responsibilities

  • Review project business requirements to properly build, enhance and support related testing frameworks.

  • Design and develop comprehensive automated test strategies and test cases.

  • Automate test cases using exiting frameworks and tools.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams to better understand requirements, to provide technical solutions and support user testing.

  • Provide support throughout software delivery process, auditing as well as after-hours support, as necessary.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or equivalent academic discipline.

  • 5+ years of relevant Quality Engineering experience involving application development, deployment and testing (Preferably in the financial industry).

  • Proven track record of delivering quality work on time.

  • Knowledge of software development and quality assurance best practices.

  • RDBMS (Oracle, MSSQL or MySQL) and NoSQL (PostgreSQL): 4+ years (Preferred).

  • Linux and Windows: 3+ years (Preferred).

  • Experience with Java and Python.

  • Experience with Maven, Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, JUnit, and TestNG.

  • Experience with Kubernetes and container-based application environments.

  • Familiarity with AI-powered testing and development tools.

  • Experience testing and supporting web/cloud-based applications.

  • Experience supporting production and CERT environments.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to explain designs and solutions clearly.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.

  • Strong aptitude for picking up new QA tools, technologies and testing methodologies quickly.

  • A methodical, detail-oriented approach to test planning, execution and defect tracking.

  • Genuine eagerness to learn, ask questions and continuously grow as a QA professional.

New York Base Salary Range

The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $120,000 - 175,000 USD.  The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation.  While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual. Regular full-time ICE employees are eligible for a suite of competitive employee benefits, including healthcare coverage (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) plan, life insurance, time off, and paid leave for qualifying circumstances.
