Full job description

Product Designer About LatchBio We build the benchmarks that test whether frontier AI can actually do computational biology. Pharma/biotech, Frontier AI, & solution providers rely on benchmarks.bio to evaluate and improve their AI systems . We're hiring a Product Designer to design and ship the experiences researchers use to understand, run, and contribute to our benchmarks; both the internal tools our team uses to build tasks and the public-facing platform where the scientific community engages with our work. You'll shape how researchers interact with AI performance data, how we present our benchmarks and scientific launches to the world, to help determine whether frontier models can reliably handle the complex reasoning that real computational biology requires. About This Role You will be working on problems across product design, including complex product workflows, interaction and visual design, developer and user experience, and our company website. You will work on a small team and have significant control over the direction you take and problems you tackle. You may work on understanding and improving complex workflows across our platform, identifying usability and design problems, developing new interaction patterns, and designing and shipping features from idea through production. You will also design and build pages and experiences for our company website, including benchmark launches, product announcements, company updates, and other marketing needs. You will work with the team to determine how we present our products and work externally, translating technical ideas into clear, polished web experiences. We expect designers to be hands-on in bringing their work to production, using AI coding agents to implement and iterate on their designs. You don't need to be an experienced frontend engineer, but you should be comfortable working with code and using modern tools to turn designs into working software. This is a good fit for someone who cares equally about how something works, how it looks, and how it feels to use. Strong Fit

  • Designed and shipped products, interfaces, or websites that people love

  • Strong visual, interaction, and product design judgment

  • Ability to understand complex workflows and translate them into intuitive, polished experiences

  • Ability to identify meaningful product problems and independently take them from loosely defined ideas through production

  • Comfortable using AI coding agents to implement, prototype, and iterate on designs

  • Experience designing polished marketing websites, landing pages, or launch experiences

  • Ability to communicate complex technical products clearly through design

  • Comfortable working through ambiguity, setting your own direction, and iterating quickly

Nice to Have

  • Frontend engineering experience with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and React

  • Experience working directly in production codebases and collaborating with engineers on implementation

  • Experience designing developer tools, scientific software, or other complex technical products

Who You'll Work With

  • Engineering: Aidan, Ryan, Anirudh, Joel, Tim

  • Product: Hannah, Nathan

  • Founding Team/C-Suite: Alfredo, Kyle, Kenny, Jordan

  • BioEngineers/Ai Biologist: 60+ Team

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $160K - $200K

  • Unlimited PTO policy

  • Every lunch and dinner is paid for ($18K annual value)

  • 100% premium covered on Blue Shield’s platinum health plan, and 50% premium coverage for dependents. 100% coverage for top-tier Guardian dental and vision plans.

  • Ambitious Equity incentives

  • 401(k) plan options

  • Company-sponsored professional development

  • Work visa sponsorship

  • Team-wide science/engineering reading groups
