Position Summary

The Regional Rental Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the regional rental business to achieve company growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction goals. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Rental Operations, this role oversees sales performance, fleet utilization, operational excellence, financial management, customer relationships, and employee development.

The rental manager serves as the primary leader for the rental business unit and is accountable for driving revenue growth, maximizing fleet productivity, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This position requires a hands-on leader with strong business acumen, industry knowledge, and the ability to build lasting customer partnerships while developing a high-performing team.

Essential Functions of the Job

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive rental, parts, and service revenue growth throughout the assigned region.

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships that result in repeat business, long-term partnerships, and high customer satisfaction.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share and profitability.

  • Conduct regular customer visits and sales calls to support business development efforts.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop strategic plans for regional growth.

  • Supervise and support Rental Sales Representatives, when applicable, to ensure sales goals and performance expectations are achieved.

Operational Leadership

  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for all regional staff.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safety standards, and operational best practices.

  • Maintain a professional, organized, and customer-focused facility and work environment.

  • Partner with service and operations teams to ensure equipment readiness, customer responsiveness, and service excellence.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

  • Accountable for the safety and quality standards of the rental fleet, and used trucks that are for sale.

Financial Management

  • Maintain full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for the assigned region.

  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions to achieve financial targets.

  • Develop and communicate accurate sales forecasts, business projections, and market intelligence.

  • Manage costs effectively while supporting revenue growth and operational objectives.

  • Partner with Corporate Accounts Receivable to support timely collections and minimize outstanding receivables.

Fleet Management

  • Maximize rental fleet utilization through effective planning, scheduling, and customer engagement.

  • Identify opportunities to expand the rental fleet based on market demand and business growth objectives.

  • Collaborate with corporate leadership to support fleet acquisition, deployment, and long-term asset strategies.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and distribute sales, operational, and financial reports as required.

  • Communicate regional performance, challenges, opportunities, and market trends to senior leadership.

  • Participate in annual sales meetings, management meetings, and corporate initiatives.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel extensively throughout the assigned region (approximately 75%) to support customers, employees, sales activities, and operational objectives.

  • Additional travel outside the assigned territory may be required for company meetings, training, and strategic initiatives.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Experience working with CRM systems and business reporting tools preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Sales, Operations, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive sales, rental equipment, operations, or business management experience.

  • Five (5) or more years of leadership and supervisory experience preferred.

  • Experience in industrial equipment rental, vacuum trucks, environmental services, construction equipment, or related industries strongly preferred.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales growth, operational improvements, and financial performance objectives.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent travel throughout the assigned region, approximately 75%.

  • Combination of office, customer site, service facility, and field environments.

  • May be required to work extended hours, evenings, or weekends as business needs dictate.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to travel independently.

  • Ability to visit active job sites and industrial environments while adhering to all company safety requirements.
