Full job description

Job Title: Process Tech

Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: Forging

Reports to: Forging Supervisor

Position: M-F

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting in trouble shooting and diagnosing issues during the manufacturing process. They maintain & improve cycle times at the machines through process improvements (ex: robot programming). They also will perform process audits and ensure KAAP policy is being followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help launch new products and assist in modifications that needed to be installed on dies when needed

  • Reduce C.T. during manufacturing process. Make process improvements to help reduce scrap

  • Perform process audits and report nonconformances to the production staff and correct immediately if possible

  • Utilize knowledge of forging processes to manage safety, improve quality, and optimize production

Skills & Competencies:

  • Understanding of Fanuc & Yaskawa robotics

  • Ability to interpret movement charts

  • Knowledgeable in cycle time, tact time, and Muda analysis

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to read and comprehend basic English

  • Ability to follow instructions

  • Experience in APQP and product launches

  • Willing to work in hot/humid, cold, noisy industrial environment

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited schedule standardization exists

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • Understanding and utilization of 5S concept.

Education & Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience in Forging or stamping environment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Fanuc Handling Tool & Moto man DX-100 certifications preferred.

  • 5 years related experience in trouble shooting and robot programming
