As a vital member of our team, based out of Jacobs’ local Denver office, you will have the chance to work on exciting and engaging projects and utilize your highway/roadway expertise to serve as a senior roadway project manager on transportation related projects and programs. You will solve complex problems; take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions; and guide others in solving complex issues in specialized areas. We’ll rely on your leadership as you mentor and direct junior staff through projects. We want you to be empowered to deliver the boldest solutions for your clients and we will provide resources to help you pursue opportunities that excite you.

You will also participate in the development of our business strategy. You will proactively identify and champion project pursuits; deepen your existing client relationships and add new clients; and partner with our sales and operations leadership for growth initiatives within the market. Your relationships with our clients and communities in the Mountains area will support our growth with key and strategic pursuits of planning and design projects.

You’ll grow professionally with us as we rise together on impactful projects with a high degree of technical complexity from the concept stage through detailed design and construction services. You’ll be leading multidiscipline teams to complete tasks within established schedules and budgets and help advance our business development strategies.

Key Expectations in This Role:

  • Lead successful delivery of quality projects, from conceptual design through construction

  • Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages

  • Manage on-call contracts and sub-consultants

  • Prepare scope, schedule, and budgets for projects and task orders

  • Prepare or oversee the design for roadway, highway, and/or traffic engineering projects

  • Identify creative and innovative solutions based on client, project, and site constraints

  • Provide technical guidance, oversight, and perform quality reviews

  • Train, direct, and mentor junior engineers

  • Coordinate project milestones and workload with other project managers and group leads throughout the Mountains area

  • Assist and coordinate with client account management leads on client strategy to win work

  • Assist in business development and proposal efforts

  • Maintain and/or develop relationships with existing and new clients to determine their needs and manage expectations

  • Assist with identification and delivery of growth areas in our client base and project delivery areas

  • Execute projects using the Jacobs project delivery processes

  • Work with operational manager over project delivery to support your PM portfolio and business acumen

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • At least 20 years related experience in transportation work with an emphasis on roadway and/or transit design

  • At least 8 years of transportation project management experience

  • Previous Department of Transportation (DOT), County or Municipal experience

  • Ability to demonstrate project leadership experience

  • Strong OpenRoads Designer, InRoads, MicroStation background

  • Strong mathematical, analytical, time management skills

  • Understanding of project risks that can affect quality project delivery

  • Experience leading discipline and project teams on multi-discipline infrastructure engineering design and construction projects

  • Professional licensure

  • Familiarity with Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) plans and specifications preparation

  • Client connections in the Colorado area

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience on alternative delivery projects (Design-build, CM/GC)

  • Familiarity with Autocad/Civil3D

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 products including MS Project and SharePoint
