Full job description
Northern Light Mercy Hospital is seeking a full-time breast surgeon to join its successful, nationally accredited breast care center in Portland, Maine. This position offers the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing world-class care for patients with both benign and malignant breast conditions. With a reputation for clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and compassion, Northern Light Mercy Hospital is the perfect environment for a surgeon looking to make a meaningful impact and grow a long-term career.
Candidates should be board certified or board eligible in general surgery (required). Fellowship training or additional experience in breast surgery is preferred.

1:3 call rotation with no general surgery call and no in-house call requirement

328 hours of annual PTO and additional Paid Parental Time for new parents
Practice in a Thriving, Well-Supported Environment:

Work alongside an accomplished breast surgeon, a dedicated breast surgery PA, and a full-time NP seeing high risk patients.

Join a comprehensive practice offering the full spectrum of breast health services, including a dedicated high-risk clinic and genetic testing for affected and unaffected patients.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes breast radiologists, medical oncologists, nurse navigators, social workers, and other specialized support staff.

Provide high-quality, compassionate care in a breast center known for its exceptional patient experience and commitment to seeing newly diagnosed breast cancer patients within two business days.

Compensation Information:

$411,000 - $451,287 annual base salary with the ability to earn additional compensation based on productivity.

The compensation range listed reflects the range Northern Light Health anticipates relying on in setting the wages for the position. The range may not necessarily include all additional compensation elements available, including but not limited to call pay, leadership stipends, etc.
