OVERVIEW: This is an exciting opportunity for an early career attorney (1–3 years’ experience) to join an in-house legal team who is eager to grow, take ownership, and build a dynamic in-house legal career supporting marketing initiatives across the organization. The role will focus on providing day-to-day legal support, under the guidance of senior attorneys, for field activations, local marketing campaigns, community engagement events, sponsorships, and related commercial agreements. This position offers hands-on experience supporting high-visibility, on-the-ground marketing efforts initiatives that shape the customer experience and brand presence in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Role Responsibilities:

Advice and Counsel

  • Under the guidance of senior attorneys, review and advise on marketing campaigns, advertisements, promotional materials, digital content, influencer initiatives, and customer-facing communications.

  • Counsel business teams on compliance with advertising, marketing, sweepstakes, contest, consumer protection, endorsement, and promotional laws.

Contract Negotiation and Drafting

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of commercial agreements supporting field and community-based marketing initiatives (e.g., sponsorship, event, collaboration, licensing, influencer, and vendor agreements).

  • Support the contract lifecycle process and escalate issues to senior attorneys as appropriate.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Support internal clients in understanding and complying with applicable laws related to promotions, events, and marketing practices.

  • Assist in maintaining templates, guidance materials, and training resources, and help monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting marketing and community activations.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing, community engagement, partnerships, merchandising, and operations teams, as well as internal legal subject matter experts (e.g., privacy, regulatory, and AI).

  • Provide support on routine matters, contribute to cross-functional initiatives, and escalate more complex issues as needed.

  • Support special projects and other legal department initiatives as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced Degree - Juris Doctorate

  • 3-5 years experience

  • Paralegal experience a plus; document drafting & talent development experience preferred along with law firm and/or initially in-house experience
