Full job description
Why Join Omnicell?
This is a rare in-house legal role for a builder who wants to do more than advise from the sidelines. You will help shape and operationalize Omnicell's global AI and data governance program across third-party technologies and internally developed products, then translate fast-moving AI and privacy requirements into programs, controls, and product requirements the business can execute. You will sit at the intersection of law, product, engineering, security, and quality, with direct access to the work that matters: AI risk reviews, product validation, privacy operations, and go-to-market strategy. If you are curious, decisive, and energized by turning ambiguity into scalable systems, this role offers unusual scope and impact.
What You'll Do
-
Refine & scale Omnicell's global AI governance program for third-party tools and internal development.
-
Translate emerging AI, privacy, and data governance requirements into clear policies, operating procedures, controls, contract negotiation, and product requirements documents.
-
Advise product, engineering, security, quality, procurement, and business teams on practical pathways to deploy AI responsibly and bring offerings to market.
-
Lead legal guidance for AI risk reviews and mitigation plans supporting the acquisition and use of third-party tools.
-
Partner with the AI Policy & Standards Manager to execute Omnicell's AI validation framework for products.
-
Oversee privacy and AI governance activities connected to privacy impact assessments, transfer impact assessments, records of processing activities, and related product reviews.
-
Counsel teams on privacy-by-design and responsible AI requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
-
Build repeatable playbooks, decision frameworks, escalation paths, and metrics that make governance practical, durable, and scalable across a global organization.
-
Monitor regulatory developments and proactively identify where products, processes, policies, or controls should be adjusted .
People Leadership
This role will lead two direct operational reports supporting AI governance and go-to-market offerings, including oversight of a Privacy Specialist who partners closely with product teams.
Who You Are Minimum Qualifications
-
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and authorization to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
-
At least three years of in-house legal experience.
-
Demonstrated experience advising on privacy, AI, data gov, technology, product, or related regulatory matters.
-
Ability to turn complex and evolving legal requirements into actionable business programs and product requirements.
-
Experience partnering directly with product, engineering, security, quality, procurement, or go-to-market teams.
-
Strong curiosity and a hands-on mindset. You ask the next question, learn the technology, and move work forward without waiting to be directed.
-
Clear, practical communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders globally.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience working in a service provider organization or advising technology-enabled products and services across multiple customer environments.
-
Experience operationalizing AI governance, responsible AI, privacy-by-design, or product compliance programs.
-
Experience managing legal or operational professionals and building scalable governance capabilities.
