Overview

Employment Type: Full Time

Shifts Available: Nights

Hours: 12-Hour shifts – 7:00pm to 7:00am

Location: Saint Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO

We are seeking a Telemetry CNA, sometimes referred to as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The Certified Nursing Assistant in our telemetry unit plays an important role in the care of patients who require continuous monitoring of their heart and vital signs. Our Telemetry units typically care for patients with cardiac conditions, post-surgical needs, or other medical issues requiring close monitoring. Our CNA’s provide essential support to patients under close cardiac monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and document vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation)

  • Observe patients for any changes in condition, such as increased discomfort, difficulty breathing, or changes in mental status, and report findings to the RN

  • Observe cardiac monitors and reporting any irregularities to the nursing staff

  • Ensure telemetry leads and equipment are properly placed and functioning

  • Act as a liaison between patients and the nursing team

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.

  • Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

  • Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

  • Minimum six months’ previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
