Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a psychiatrist to provide onsite outpatient, inpatient, emergency psychiatry services to eligible beneficiaries of the Hampton VA Healthcare System located at 100 Emancipation Drive Hampton, VA 23667. Floating to the Outpatient CBOC located in Virginia Beach, VA may be required as well. This is a 1099 position, and the schedule is typically Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with call and possible weekends. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive psychiatric care in:

Outpatient clinics
-
Inpatient psychiatry units
-
Emergency Department consultations
-
Inpatient consultations
-
Manage inpatient psychiatric patients, including:
-
Admissions
-
Psychiatric evaluations and diagnoses
-
Treatment planning
-
Medication management
-
Ongoing treatment
-
Discharge and transfer planning
-
Medical record documentation
-
Evaluate and treat:
-
New patient referrals
-
Severely mentally ill patients
-
Post-discharge follow-up patients
-
Patients requiring suicide risk assessments
-
Patients requiring crisis intervention services
-
Conduct:
-
Diagnostic assessments
-
Medication renewals
-
E-consults
-
Emergency psychiatric evaluations
-
Provide weekend and holiday coverage for inpatient psychiatry patients, including up to approximately 40 patients
-
Provide after-hours telephone consultations regarding:
-
Psychiatric emergencies
-
Crisis management
-
Medication issues
-
Restraints and seclusions
-
Transfer consultations
-
Order clarification
-
General psychiatric patient care questions
-
Respond to hospital call-back requests and return to the hospital within one hour when required.

Supervise Residents, Interns, Medical Students, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
-
Complete all patient documentation in CPRS/EHR within required timelines.
-
Enter prescriptions, imaging orders, and laboratory orders using VA systems.

Participate in peer review activities and mental health case reviews.
-
Average 12-15 patients per day per psychiatrist during weekday clinic coverage
Qualifications
-
MD or DO
-
Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
-
No history of restriction, suspension, or revocation
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
-
American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
-
Active AHA BLS Certification
-
DEA license (active)
-
National Provider Identifier (NPI) (active or obtainable)
-
Must be able to pass a federal background investigation
All candidates must be able to:
-
Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
-
Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
-
Lift up to 20 lbs
-
Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
-
Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
