POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role gets the right material to the right crew at the right time for the Bloom PIT Campus Power Station, a large cost-plus, open-book, self-perform IBEW electrical and medium-voltage project. The position receives, inspects, stages, inventories, and delivers material; prepares and consolidates day-to-day material requisitions; owns shortages, returns, and expediting with corporate purchasing; and tracks major-package deliveries against the installation sequence. The role reports to the General Superintendent.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Champion Safety Culture. Lead by example in upholding safety standards and support safe material handling, storage, and equipment operation in the yard and laydown areas.

  • Prepare Non-Package Material Requisitions. Prepare and consolidate requisitions from material lists provided by the Area Superintendents and route them to the General Superintendent for review before submission to corporate purchasing.

  • Receive, Inspect, Stage, and Inventory Material. Check deliveries against packing lists and purchase orders, document damage and discrepancies, protect material, and maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Deliver Material to Work Areas. Issue and deliver material to crews and coordinate timing and access with the Area Superintendents.

  • Manage Shortages, Returns, and Expediting. Work with corporate purchasing on shortages, returns, open orders, backorders, and delivery impacts.

  • Track Major-Package Deliveries. Track cable, switchgear, transformers, and other long-lead items against the installation sequence and flag schedule risks.

  • Support Look-Ahead Planning. Provide material availability, lead-time, and staging-space input for field plans and the three-week look-ahead.

  • Support Cost and Invoice Records. Provide receiving records, delivery tickets, manifests, and material-issued information for open-book backup and invoice reconciliation.

  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Vendors. Work with corporate purchasing on purchase order status, deliveries, and vendor issues.

  • Maintain Yard and Receiving Operations. Maintain an organized, safe, and secure receiving yard and warehouse and follow site logistics, access, and delivery requirements.

  • Crave Learning. Grow through hands-on experience, training, and mentorship and actively engage in available development opportunities.

  • Additional Responsibilities. Assume additional duties and responsibilities as delegated by Sargent Executive Management.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience in electrical construction materials management, preferred.

  • Experience with Vista, ProjectSight or similar inventory and purchasing tools, barcode or inventory tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Working knowledge of electrical materials and equipment, including conduit, wire and cable, fittings, switchgear, transformers, and related handling, storage, and protection requirements.

  • Experience with receiving and inspection procedures, inventory control, requisitions, purchase order tracking, shortages, returns, and expediting.

  • Ability to safely operate or direct material handling equipment such as forklifts and telehandlers; required certifications and OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.

  • Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, recordkeeping, and prioritization skills.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 4 to 8 years of related experience in materials management, warehousing, or logistics on large electrical, utility-scale, or industrial construction projects.

  • Experience with self-perform union IBEW electrical work, medium-voltage, substation, fuel cell, BESS, or data center projects preferred.

WHY JOIN SARGENT ELECTRIC?

  • Competitive compensation based on experience

  • Established, growing company with a strong industry reputation

  • Collaborative, team-driven environment
