Job Description
Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor position is a hands-on position that will lead our Facilities team and assure all assets and daily operations in the facility are OSHA compliant, well maintained, and running efficiently at design-rated capacity. The successful candidate will be willing to participate on all shifts when needed and repair equipment as is necessary to support the Facilities and Operations teams.
This individual will guide day-to-day maintenance operations in a 24/7 healthcare and clean-room environment. He or she will guide local maintenance technicians, coordinate all projects with Facilities and Operations teams, and direct all shift maintenance personnel activities. This individual will ensure all maintenance activities are completed, and maximum operational potential is realized for the entire plant operation. As part of a team, properly maintain and repair equipment in a fast-paced, high production work environment while prioritizing multiple mechanical/electrical/plumbing and administrative tasks. Supervisors will be able to train technicians on technical and administrative skills. They will also be the primary escalation point to ensure issues are resolved quickly and planned work is completed within established timelines for Facilities Maintenance and Facilities Management requirements.
This "hands-on" position requires extensive knowledge in building systems, coupled with strong analytical and communication skills. Ensures compliance with established STERIS policies and procedures and aids in the development of new processes. May include service or repair work on plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, motors, pumps, electrical systems, lighting, flooring, window coverings, walls, PLC, and other systems. Vast experience maintaining high-pressure steam boilers, HVAC systems, RO/DI units, and Electrical systems desired. The selected candidate must have flexablity to work all shifts during production including weekends during downtime for PMs
Duties
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and manage the safety of facilities service staff and supervised contracted service personnel.
Supervise, train, and evaluate the maintenance team, fostering skill development and ensuring successful operations.
Oversee and participate in preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, including administrative tasks necessary for quality and regulatory compliance.
Direct and manage shift maintenance personnel activities, coordinating with Facilities and Operations teams to ensure smooth plant operation.
Troubleshoot, evaluate, and coordinate repair of equipment failures, scheduling outages and repair windows with Operations leadership.
Develop, implement, and review Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in accordance with STERIS guidelines and maintain on-site operating and training manuals.
Implement continuous improvement opportunities utilizing lean methodologies.
Manage and appraise performance of facility staff, coordinating maintenance work schedule and managing outside contractors and agencies.
Oversee procurement of parts, tools, supplies, and services required for facility operations and manage departmental budget.
Assist with planning, implementing, and overseeing plant improvement projects, traveling to other STERIS locations as necessary.
Required Experience
13 years facilities experience or equivalent experience with a high school diploma or GED OR Bachelor's Degree 5 years facilities experience or equivalent experience
5 + years experience within industrial maintenance (or related military specialty) or facilities related position
3+ years in a supervisory or lead position
Must maintain knowledge of technical, building operations, basic mechanical systems and facilities management best practices
Understanding of basic accounting and finance principles
Able to read and understand blueprints, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
Ability to read and interpret regulatory and safety guidelines applicable to the industry
Have a valid Drivers License
Competent user of computer programs, including email, project management or maintenance software, and spreadsheets
Willingness to obtain forklift, aerial lift, and other powered lift system qualifications
2+ years healthcare/cleanroom or manufacturing environment experience
1+ years CMMS experience
Pay range for this opportunity is$79,687.50-$103,125.00.This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
