Superintendent

Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on industrial, manufacturing, and automotive construction projects in the San Antonio area. This individual will be responsible for day-to-day site leadership, subcontractor coordination, schedule execution, safety, quality, and communication with project management and ownership teams.

The ideal candidate has experience managing multidisciplinary construction scopes and understands how to keep complex projects moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of all onsite construction activities.

Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and project stakeholders to maintain the construction schedule.

Manage multiple trades and construction divisions, including:

Mechanical/process piping

Plumbing

HVAC

Electrical

Fire protection

Structural and architectural scopes

Conduct daily site walks and monitor progress against project schedules and milestones.

Lead subcontractor coordination meetings, daily huddles, and look-ahead planning.

Maintain and communicate 2-week and 3-week look-ahead schedules to identify potential schedule conflicts or delays.

Coordinate RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, and field changes with the project management team.

Review construction documents to identify constructability issues and potential field conflicts before they impact schedule.

Utilize project management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud/Forma, Bluebeam, or similar construction technology.

Work closely with Project Managers to track schedule, manpower, material deliveries, and overall project progress.

Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning activities, punch-list completion, and project closeout.

Enforce site-specific safety requirements and promote a strong safety culture among subcontractors and field personnel.

Monitor workmanship and ensure construction meets drawings, specifications, quality standards, and owner expectations.

Proactively identify field issues and drive them to resolution with a strong sense of urgency.

Maintain daily reports documenting manpower, work completed, site conditions, delays, safety items, and significant project activities.

Communicate effectively with owners, project executives, project managers, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and field personnel.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.07/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
