Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op

Job Description:

The Role:

Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be full time, 6 months in duration.

What You'll Do:

As a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced production environment. Key responsibilities include:

Participate in daily Tier meetings to monitor production performance, identify challenges, and support operational priorities.

Create, update, and maintain manufacturing work instructions and process documentation.

Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and eliminate waste.

Prepare and initiate Management of Change (MOC) documentation to support process improvements and operational changes.

Present proposed process changes and improvement initiatives to cross-functional teams to gain stakeholder alignment and support.

Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers on projects related to process optimization, productivity improvements, quality enhancements, and manufacturing best practices.

Collect and analyze production data to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.

Work closely with operations, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to solve manufacturing challenges.

What We Seek:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least one year of completed coursework.

Interest in manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Previous manufacturing, production, internship, Co-Op, or hands-on technical experience is preferred.

Experience with CAD/CAM software is preferred.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Eligibility:

Must be a currently enrolled student

Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June

Must be familiar with the university's requirements to participate in a co-op program

Compensation: $20-$30/hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role.
